Hello everyone, just like the artists creating (free) portraits of NHS employees in order to overtake their extraordinary dedication and sacrifice to save the lives of every patient, I would like to join this noble event and also offer (free) portrait or caricature for
1) NHS employee,
2) a nursing home employee (for the elderly, the disabled, the chronically ill etc.),
or individual person,
3) a police officer, fireman or postman,
4) a teacher or guardian of young children,
5) volunteer - delivering food and medicine,
6) a supermarket employee or small shop,
7) drivers of public transport or taxi or delivering shopping,
8) an employee of another accidentally overlooked category of the so-called first line of struggle to maintain the basic life functions of the whole society.
I reserve priority for people from Cornwall and Devon.
I am asking interested persons from the 8 categories mentioned above to send a photo (preferably several) from which I will be able to draw a portrait / katykatute, and to submit my willingness and inspiration of motive for my work (the most important for me is motivation and individual inspiration, the order of applications is not important to me ) deadline for submission by the end of May 2020.
To sum up, I have deep conviction and hope for my art / work for these 8 selected people will be commemoration and my personal contribution / thanks for their work in these extremely tragic times for all of us.
At the same time, I would like to organize an exhibition or even a series of exhibitions of these 8 portraits plus a few other made / inspired by this difficult / tragic time / event (perhaps combined with drawing willing visitors, for donations to a local charity).
Therefore, I am looking for people / owners of small galleries, shops, cafes, restaurants, charities, etc. (in the UK) willing to invite this exhibition (date negotiable, probably autumn / winter, 2020/21).
I also encourage other artists (professional or amateur / hobbyists) to participate in this artistic / charity event
