Looking for something to do this summer? Come and join us at The Crafts Workshop for a creative family day out!

Experience the historic art of blacksmithing, with demonstrations taking place throughout the day. Learn how chainmail is made, see master woodworkers at work and have a go at making your own zines!

Resident artists will open their studios and be available to chat, we will have an array of artwork available for sale, and new charity Unbroken Ukraine will have various items for sale and on display, including military uniforms, patches and comics, to raise money in support of Ukraine.

This Open Day has been supported with funding by the Elmgrant Trust.

When: Saturday 1st August 2026, 11am - 5pm

WE ARE CROWDFUNDING!
The Crafts Workshop is crowdfunding to raise money to secure the future of the organisation.

We are looking to raise £6,035 to help cover the cost of our rent and other core expenses for the next 5 months. Helping to relieve substantial financial pressure on our team, all of whom are neurodivergent and/or disabled, whilst they seek income and funding for our future projects.

This includes:
- Providing blacksmithing therapy workshops to the veteran community, supporting mental health, and combating social isolation.
- Providing craft therapy to the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities, providing them with safe spaces and opportunities to learn new skills and make new friends.
- Supporting local artists and craftspeople, especially those building their businesses, giving them valuable opportunities to exhibit and sell their work.

We have many great rewards available including blacksmithing lessons, associate membership and hand crafted goodies.
