A real treat for you this Sunday and congratulations to the Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 team for a win!

The “Lament for the death of his second wife” by Perthshire’s Neil Gow played by one of Scotland’s finest ever fiddle players, Paul Anderson from Tarland with Tim Edey live from Migvie Kirk near Tarland.

I’ve been a huge fan of Paul’s stunning playing and also his recordings which often feature his own compositions which are beautiful, since another great Charlie Mckerron introduced me to Paul’s music via the explosive fiddlers album back in y2000.

I played a recital yesterday in the beautiful ancient Kirk near Tarland and had the pleasure of getting a tune with Paul and his wife Shona whom is a great fiddler and singer of Scot’s song, a really life affirming joyous trip north thank you Paul and Shona.

The full 🎥 with intro and a look at the Kirk is on the The Tim Edey Show! Sleeping tunes on Saturdays group page.

Sad, sad news from Lochaber the end of an era, a true trad music legend rest easy Aonghas, such a wonderful man and musician.

We are very very sorry to let you know of the passing of one of our heroes, a great musician, friend and teacher Aonghas Grant senior, the left-handed fiddler of Lochaber. He died peacefully at home at the age of 94. His music will live on through the hands of the many musicians he taught, and through the hands of those they teach in their turn. I don't know how many of his students received his greatest honour - the Red Tassle - but we fear there will now be no more. A huge loss to Lochaber, to Scotland, and to music. We were lucky to have him as long as we did.
