Last Thursday I asked about the emotional expression of my clay sculpture. I challenged myself with this piece, I wanted to go deep into something dramatic, dark, and layered🌚

The thought that guided me while sculpting was: “I want to believe… but should I?”

It’s that moment when someone you love (I hope it never actually happened to you), someone, let's say, struggling with addiction - is begging for forgiveness, swearing they’ll change. The hope is still there. The longing to believe is strong. Maybe a miracle is possible?

But my character isn’t naive. He is emotionally resilient (braver? more self-aware?) - clear-eyed enough to recognise that the trust will most likely be broken again.
So he is skeptical, yes. Sad, of course. Thoughtful and grounded in truth. with a little glimpse of hope.

It’s that time of year when I can’t show you the commissions I’m working on, because they’re all meant as Christmas presents! But I can still show you some of my other work.

This one was the most challenging commission I’ve ever done. Omg, I actually copied the famous The Hunters in the Snow by Pieter Bruegel in watercolour! It wasn’t easy, I tell you, and I will never do anything like that ever, ever, ever again 😄😄

But if you have something else in mind, like, for example, a portrait of your house, don’t hesitate to give me a shout! 😉
