Big thankyou to everyone for supporting our rebuild project despite the delays to our rebuild timeline, especially our neighbours in the cove!

We're doing everything we can to get the building finished as quickly as possible to let us reopen to the community.

We're so close and we're really looking forward to being able to get that hoarding down and show you all how it's looking!

The centre rebuild is coming along nicely - the area photographed is our gym space. It feels really light and spacious with the nice big doors in the front (opening onto the balcony) overlooking the cove.

This section of the multi-purpose area on the first floor of the centre will have a sliding wall to enable it to be closed off for safety if children are using the centre (school groups etc) - whilst enabling the whole area to be opened up for meetings, workshops & exercise classes (yoga, pilates, circuits etc).

Ahh its fantastic to have a properly sunny day here in Sennen!

Time for another project update: After a frustrating couple of months of delays we are seeing some fantastic progress on site.

We finally have a roof, the windows & doors are being installed and internal works are commencing!

Big thanks to the team on site who have been working really hard through some truly awful weather! Pushing hard to get us ready to open in the Spring :)

Fantastic to see the shape of the building emerge as the rebuild progresses! It's going to look amazing!

And the artists impression of the downstairs space.

You can see the main entrance on the left with a multi-purpose space available on this floor in addition to the upstairs one. This space has changing areas, with both benches for changing and individual cubicles, lockers will provide secure storage for valuables. Also visible on this floor are the accessible toilet / shower room, additional toilet and small kitchen area for refreshments.

The smaller room on the right is designed as secure board storage space for the local community surf club. This will enable them to continue to run their community surf lessons from the building whilst keeping the main building accessible to all.

This shows the position of the sliding wall, which is available to close off the gym area from the rest of the space when needed.

A small kitchenette provides facility for refreshments during meetings, workshops, training and events. Storage will be built in to hold the tables & chairs and other equipment.

For those of you who missed our AGM - I'm going to upload some of the interior details for the new centre that were presented there!

The first is the new gym space - this is at the far end of the first floor of the new centre, and will be possible to separate off by a sliding wall for any groups who require this (for example school groups where the gym equipment being accessible would be a potential safety risk).

The whole space can be used for other purposes with the doors left open (for example yoga or pilates classes where you may need more space for training, or small circuit training classes).

This space has been designed with the training needs of our ocean sport community in mind, following the results of our recent survey and feedback from both the local surf & gig clubs. A rough list of what we are installing into this space is included at the top of the image!

Just a reminder of our upcoming AGM:
Tuesday 28th October @ 7pm
At the Sennen Community Centre (behind the primary school)

We'll be sharing the progress on the centre rebuild project and would love the feedback from individuals and groups in our community to shape the future of the centre.

We will be bringing along some artists impressions of the interior space, as well as the gym design (which has been put together based on the replies to our recent survey and with input from the gig & surf club, to help support the training of our ocean sport community!). This will be your opportunity to provide feedback before these elements are ordered!
