Hear me play it live on Saturday at the Kindness Concert, St Mary's Church

A Thousand Songs

If I could write a thousand songs
I’d play them all just like Solomon
I’d sing them all just for you
If I could count the stars at night
I’d count them all with such delight
One for every moment spent with you

Acceptance of loss, knowledge of rebirth

The Dark of Winter's Night

Before she sleeps
I kiss her lips
And then in turn
Each breast

The curve of her belly
And yes
And the beauty
Of her thighs

We do not roll
And tumble
As often now
Age has left us slow

But the fire
That was there still burns
And draws us close
To that bright shining light

That awaits
And yes
Transcends
The dark of winter’s night

Let it be, let it be

I am looking
For softness of the heart

A simplicity that belies
Intellectual and emotional curiosity

Gentleness and courage
As we approach that which is unknown

Joy, thankfulness, grace
Humility and strength

And a blessing to give
To a friend to a lover

As we share this breath, this moment
This interconnectedness
