The ground floor workspace is 29 SQM (312 sqft) with six desks priced at £165 pcm all inclusive.

The workspace features:
- own entrance (24 hr access)
- lockers
- kitchenette with microwave
- original wooden floors and sash windows
- access to outdoor, south facing courtyard
- town centre location

The desks are available for individual creative professionals working on desk-based activities (eg. graphic design, filmmaking, illustration, writing etc.)

The workspace is in the ground floor of the School Room, a recently converted building which now also houses an art room and 6 artist studios. We’re running a range of courses and community programmes at the art room, so there’s lots to get involved with.

Please note:
- These are dedicated desks to rent, not hot-desks.
- Sorry, but the desks are not suitable for painters, sculptors, ceramicists or practice which generates noise, fumes, dust etc.

Thinking about drawing in its broadest sense, Kitty invites you to explore drawing through a variety of materials. Enjoy some space in your week to relax and recharge, or use the sessions to find starting points to stretch and stimulate your own creative practice.

Church Records is a journey into the heritage and social history of the former Penryn Methodist Church. As Art Centre Penryn gives the chapel a new lease of life, this exhibition explores the building’s origins and foundation as an important community place in the heart of Penryn.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Capturing the architectural as well as the more ephemeral qualities of memory, atmosphere and sound, the artist team have made a creative archive of the building and the people connected to it. This exhibition brings elements of the archive to life.

📣 📣 Women of Cornwall – Exciting news!

Last year you sent us hundreds of suggestions of women, past and present, real and fictional for our Women of Cornwall project.

We are excited to announce the women who will feature on the collection of 50 plates. We don’t have the space to list them here, so please go to the Art Centre Penryn website to find out who they are (link in bio).

We wanted to create a diverse group of women from across ages and backgrounds, a wide range of careers, activism and volunteering roles. Well-known names are alongside unsung heroes, including sporting champions, support workers, scientists, writers, artists, a toy maker, a suffragette as well as women who defy categorisation. Their Cornishness might be fluid, but whatever these women have done, they or their achievements have a special connection to Cornwall.

We are delighted with the collection while recognising there were many others who could have been included. This is a snapshot in time, not a top 50. Details on all the women nominated are on the Art Centre Penryn website for everyone to draw inspiration from.

Katie Bunnell, the ceramic artist leading the project says: “Selecting 50 women from the 234 suggested has been an incredibly challenging task. The different perspectives of the advisory group were immensely helpful, enabling us to create what we hope is a broad and inspirational group.”

It was a full house for our first Beginners’ Life Drawing session with Kate Broad from last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who came along, had a go and stretched their comfort zone!

We’ve got some lovely fabric in for this Saturday. Helen Shine from .n.cross is going to teach you all the basic techniques you’ll need to start using a sewing machine.

This one day course give you the skills and confidence to start making your own clothes.
