Wow, what an amazing review!!

We never doubted that we had edited and curated an amazing collection of stories, so it's fantastic news to find out hard work has validated - thanks Jonathan

'....What makes Salt & Stone particularly compelling is its stylistic diversity. Seamlessly transitioning between contemporary realism and folklore-infused lyrical prose, the collection ensures that every turn of the page offers a new perspective on Cornish life. The anthology excels at capturing subtle nuances, the balance between traditional heritage and modern regional challenges, the power of the landscape, the charm of the villages, all making it a deeply resonant read for both locals and outsiders...'

We're thrilled to be hosting an event at the International Women's Writing Association Conference at Falmouth University in a couple of weeks.

We've gathered together a few of Cornwall’s strongest, contemporary female writers for our hour long slot to discuss why short stories play such a pivotal role in their lives.
And our CEO and short story writer sam stone . writer will be exploring with Clare Howdle, Clare Owen Writer and Emma Timpany why women excel at writing contemporary short fiction...
Is it the freedom to experiment? Or is it the chance to dismantle social expectations? Do short stories ive more opportunity to explore contemporary themes? Or is it simply that short stories are more manageable and can be fitted within the spaces of women's busy daily schedules?

✍📣NEW Co-Write Session📣✍

Join us in person at The Writers' Block for a series of gentle and engaging co-writing sessions!

We're very excited to launch a new monthly series of in person writing sessions at The Writers' Block over the summer. Whether you're keen to get some words on the page, looking for a space to write or just need the discipline of turning up to write, each session will provide you with time and space to work on your writing in the company of others.

The sessions will last approximately 1.5 hours with an opportunity for a check in at the beginning and then time at the end to have a little catch up (should you wish).

Led by Lucy Beckley, our Creative Lead for Communities and Emerging Writers', each session will provide a warm and welcoming space for you to meet other writers and then spend dedicated time on your writing.

These sessions are free, but donations are warmly welcomed.
