Hi folks! Nick here, and you can join me for an introduction to creating comic characters on 16th May, at The Fish Factory in Penryn.

Using simple, fun, exercises you'll create a daft new comic character while learning how to draw different expressions and poses, with speech balloons, sound effects and more. I’ll show you the tricks and skills I use when I’m drawing my weekly strip for the Beano comic.

I’ve been working as a cartoonist and illustrator for over 30 years, for loads of folk including the Beano & Dandy comics, Falmouth Art Gallery, Royal Cornwall Museum, Cornwall National Landscape, Eden Project, English Heritage, the BBC, Oxford University Press and National Grid, to name but a few! Phew.

The workshop lasts for an hour and a half, costs £7 and is for ages 16+. You can grab tickets for it through the Fish Factory - www.fishfactoryarts.com
