A fluffy little watercolour mouse.

Colour mixing exercise today following a
Laura Jayne Smith Art Expressive Pathway tutorial: painted using only three colours and a touch of black (ignore all the other colours around the edge of my palette, I didn't use any of those today).

Fiddled too much as I was enjoying myself, still I like my result.

Having not painted in months I decided to follow one of Sarah Stokes' tutorials to bring me back up to speed.

I finished this tonal tiger piece today using W&N Lamp Black and white ink details on Seawhite paper.

I don't favour spatters and scribbles so much on my watercolours but decided to go with them for this piece and I think they do add expressive movement to my tiger.

Happy with my Hazel Hare, my 8x10 inch charcoal sketch on board which I completed today.

She will be off for exhibition at Richmond next month once she's been popped into her frame.

Definitely challenged myself with this large-for-me charcoal stag portrait but I'm very happy with him.

He will be framed over the coming days and I then look forward to seeing him adorning a wall very soon.

Fantastic opportunity to own a John Hanley print whilst also supporting a great charity: the Wildwood Trust.

Last year we lost a much-loved member of the association, John Hanley. John loved contributing to the charity auction so in memorial to him we have organised for a print of one of his beautiful graphite works to be included.

Another day, another scribble sketch.
This one from a reference of my choosing.

It takes longer and is obviously not as accurate a way of drawing as gridding or tracing but my free hand sketching is more acceptable than I expected.

And this is fun!

This was an exercise in freehand drawing and tonal scribbling - easier said than done, I can’t remember the last time I just freely scribbled!
