Another commission complete!

I am very pleased with this piece, despite my initial hesitancy towards drawing such light fur - but now that he’s finished I couldn’t be happier!

Best investment so far this year - A high resolution scanner!! This has given me so much more confidence in sharing my pieces and creating a digital copy for my own use as well as to serve to the opportunity for each piece to be repurposed into other forms such as mugs or cards!!

Graphite has always been my strongest medium, and consequently my favourite to work with.

It reduces the stress of accurately matching the colours of the animal to the drawing, the shade gradient of graphite allows me to create depth within each piece and a higher level of detail than what could be achieved with other mediums.

In honour of the passing of the beautiful Dolly Parton, I decided to illustrate a key feature of her and her franchise - the Monarch butterfly.

Dolly had a generational impact on my family, dating back to my great grandmother whom was obsessed with her music as well as her soul. Serving many memories within my family alone which made it only right that I honour her the way my Nan would have… 🤍
