“Promise” went to her forever home as a surprise gift so I didn’t share at the time. One of my favourite creations so delighted she found her fan. Such beautiful music. I remember reading a storybook biography about Pavlova in my youth. Playing the LP In the living room. This dance took hold of my imagination through words and music before I saw it performed. It always struck me as a very short solo. Poignant and over too soon. But that seems fitting given its dying swan theme.
