this week our choir has celebrated a birthday. 7 years ago, an innocent question to a certain choir director asked why thee was not an adult choir to rival the many different groups of children's choirs he had set up. A few weeks later the Ormskirk Community choir was born. A group of adults who hadn't sung since their own school days game together and started making music. Out of this gentle start has grown a group that has become a family. A slight change in MD as James headed out for pastures new but a choice to make this fantastic group of people a priority that we all help with had meant we have gone from strength to strength.
We have remembered what it is like to do things for our own enjoyment and not just for the good of our families, we have included everyone, male, female, young and... not so young. We have performed in concerts and raised thousands of pounds for charities. Music is so fantastic for each of us and making music together is one of the best ways to make friends.
A time hop from our first birthday to this seventh birthday party, still presided over by our own social secretary. Thank you for asking that question Anne!
Save the date for our next concert on Saturday June 27th!
