Community Voices through the years 🎶
As we gear up for the new term I thought I’d take a little look back at the choir since we began. This is purely a short highlight reel, I had so many wonderful performances to choose from, and endless memories of laughter and shared time together in rehearsals too.
Since 2021 we have:
- 5 years of performances at the beloved Edwardian Evening
- 3 years performing at Rivers Edge Court,
- 2 magical evenings singing at the Tree Festival at Nethercott Farm
- 1 Concert of Musical theatre at the Ockment centre, joining with Junior and Mini Voices classes.
We have also learnt and performed a Commonwealth song “A Life Lived With Grace” and received a certificate from them as a thank you (oooh fancy)
We have been lucky enough to perform with the Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band, the choir from Boasley Cross Primary School and music centre, and most recently Flute Cocktail, raising money for Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team
We have been privileged to be asked to sing at a Fundraiser for Okehampton Library and FORCE Cancer Charity and many other town events.
Each year we create our own concert to fundraiser for a charity of our choice and have raised funds for Sands - baby loss charity, Alzheimer's Research UK and Wellmoor, amongst those previously mentioned.
We’ve even….wait for it….welcomed some MALE VOICES 😂👋
Okehampton Voices has performed in blustering winds and pouring rain, and in many venues and stages around town. We are so grateful to anyone who has ever joined us, supported us and come to see any of our events.
Want to be part of the next chapter? Come along on the 10th September, everyone is welcome 🎶
