We are incredibly proud to share that our Alfas Romeo GTV Restomod has made it to the cover of Auto Italia Magazine September edition!

This 1975 Alfa Romeo GTV typically houses a 2.0-litre twin-cam inline-four engine, constructed from aluminium and featuring twin overhead camshafts. It produces 130 bhp, reaches a top speed of around 120mph and goes from 0-60 mph in 9.0 seconds. To improve the GTV’s power, responsiveness, and overall driving character, we upgraded to a high-performance engine. The engine was stripped down and fully rebuilt to the client’s specifications. This includes high-compression pistons, which increase the engine’s efficiency and power output by allowing a more forceful combustion process.

This Alfa Romeo was in with us to investigate a knocking noise the owner had been experiencing while out on the road.

After identifying the cause, our team carried out the necessary repairs to restore the car to full health, ensuring it’s back to driving exactly as it should.

Alficina is a specialist classic car restoration company dedicated to restoring and maintaining exceptional historic and collector vehicles. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Classic Car Restoration Technician to join our experienced workshop team.

About the Role

You will be involved in the restoration of a wide range of classic and historic Alfa Romeo (and not only 1950s-1960s classics) vehicles, working to the highest standards of craftsmanship. This is an opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to preserving automotive history.

Responsibilities

* Full vehicle restoration and rebuilds
* Mechanical assembly and disassembly
* Diagnosis and repair of classic vehicle systems
* Working from workshop manuals and technical drawings
* Maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality throughout each project
* Collaborating with fellow technicians to deliver outstanding restorations

What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience working on classic or historic vehicles
* Strong mechanical knowledge and practical workshop skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
* Pride in producing work of the highest standard
* Experience in restoration, fabrication or specialist vehicle work is advantageous

No music needed for this one just the unmistakable sound of this Alfa Romeo Alfasud and its characterful flat-four boxer engine doing what it does best.

Some might even argue this is one of the best 90s hot hatches ever made 🤷🏼‍♂️

This particular car is currently in with us to diagnose a knocking noise that the owner has been hearing while driving.

Capturing the noise in the workshop is only part of the process getting out on the road and experiencing exactly what the owner is hearing is often a crucial step in diagnosing issues like these.

Hopefully we’ll have this classic sounding exactly as it should again very soon. 🔧
