Do you sometimes feel that you have started something and cannot see the finish line?

This is such a long drawn out process, but I need to keep at it as it should be really worth it in the end and I do love replicating the natural beauty of the wood grain.

This will be the third painting of my Freedom collection.

A new day, a new painting. I'm so excited to see how this one turns out. It's definitely about the process for me. Seeing something to the end and how it develops into something wonderful.

There are days where I can be so inspired from the beauty around me.

Even though I haven't painted today I feel like I have achieved a lot. I took advantage of the beautiful autumnal weather and went out for a walk with my daughters to get inspiration for my next painting.

The second painting of my Freedom collection has been slow going, but finally I'm getting somewhere. I can't wait to see it finished. Hopefully it won't be long and will be worth the time and effort.

Do you tell stories to your kids? I used to love the old Greek myths. This is my bass guitar art when in progress and the story of Jason and the Argonauts, where I took inspiration from old Greek pottery.

It's fun finding new ways of painting.

I am starting to replicate the grain in wood and so my tool of choice? An interdental brush of course. That is what art is all about, being creative, thinking outside the box and of course using your imagination. Watch this space for the finished effect.

Do you sometimes find that your biggest critic is yourself?

I've had one of those weeks where I've lacked the creative drive. I'm sure you've all had weeks like that. However, I've constantly punished myself for not being motivated. I guess I need to accept that some times are like that and move on. Tonight I'm back on it and of course tomorrow is a new day.

Do you ever start something and then many years later you realise that it is still there, unfinished? It's always, well I get it done one day.

I started this picture many years ago and there it has sat unfinished. I will now set myself a challenge. I will finish this by the time the year is out.
