"LADIES AND GENTS THIS IS THE MOMENT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR"
(Well hopefully anyway!)
I am delighted to announce that after a year of planning and hard work that 'CLOCKWORK GHOST' is now ready to move into its next stage.
This brand new, family orientated musical takes a lighthearted look at what happens when you pass over and move on into the afterlife. It is playful, extremely humorous and camp but also very touching and sincere, all the things that I think a good musical should be!
Having written the script and the lyrics to all fourteen songs myself, I can guarantee you that they are all 100% original and include ballads as well as more upbeat high tempo numbers.
Most recently I have had the pleasure of working with a talented composer who has helped bring these songs to life and interpreted my lyrics and melodies in a way that I could only have dreamt of, I am SO EXCITED for people to hear them and finally see them performed! Did I mention that they're all ORIGINAL!
So what's it about?
The story has a fairly simple plot focussing on the lives of the Higgins family, Humphrey who has recently lost his father Herbert, the main bread winner of the household, is left in financial turmoil when the only beneficiary in his fathers will is his son Harvey. With substantial mortgage arrears to pay off and only a broken antique grandfather clock left to them the family desperately need to find a way to make ends meet.
Not ready to move on into the afterlife, Herbert haunts the family clock and acquires several new 'ghost' friends, all of which try to help him come up with a get rich quick scheme to help he and his family out.
When it's later revealed that the antique grandfather clock is worth a substantial amount of money the local town crook, money grabbing town gossip and penny pinching antiques dealer all desperately try to get their hands on it. In the mix is an eccentric fake clairvoyant that believes she can communicate with Herbert from the other side and an ongoing love story between the new master of the house Humphrey and his housemaid Molly.
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
We are looking for talented actors, singers and dancers to take part in this exciting new production which will be performed for the VERY FIRST TIME EVER in Norwich, early November time.
The debut run of 'CLOCKWORK GHOST' will also be performed alongside a very talented live orchestra including wood, wind, brass, percussion and string sections. HOW EXCITING!
If you are a committed and experienced performer with skills in any of the above disciplines then why not attend our audition to find out more.
Both male and female participants are welcome and should be of at least 18 years and upwards. There is no other restriction on age.
There is no need to prepare anything in advance as the audition will be run in the style of a workshop, learning the songs, reading different character parts, interacting with others. Hopefully this will not only demonstrate your strengths and talents in a relaxed environment but will also give you the opportunity to find out more about the project and the way in which we work. I will be keen to see how you take direction and the speed at which you pick up material.
Please note that your participation in this project is entirely voluntary, but what an opportunity!
Please private message me if you require any further information and or to register your interest in auditioning. I will be happy to send you a list of characters if you are interested in choosing one that you might like to focus on at the audition.
Thank you!
