From a shed in the middle of a city… to the children’s ward at Kettering General 🐴💛

Reuben was a rescue who started life with very little. Mungo was a cheeky stallion until he was 8. Fifteen years on, they’ve taught a riding school full of children, been my daughters’ first ponies and now they’re bringing comfort to poorly little ones in hospital.

We’re so proud to be featured in the Northampton Chronicle & Echo, sharing a little about our visits to children on hospital wards.

Mungo is the cheeky one, Reuben is the calm one, and together they make the best team for bringing a bit of joy and calm to people who really need it. We feel so lucky to be able to do this.

Dearest Gentle Hen Party 🪶

It has come to this author’s attention that the season’s most sought-after guests are not dukes, nor diamonds, but two small and exceedingly handsome Shetlands.

Mungo and Reuben arrive bearing Prosecco 🥂, and they are causing quite the stir among brides-to-be across the county.

Yet whispers persist of something more scandalous still: a brooding gentleman in a billowing shirt, leading the ponies across the lawn with a gaze that could curdle cream. 💨

This author has it on good authority that the gentleman in question is the proprietor’s own husband…

…and that he has not yet been told. 😬

One can only imagine the conversation at breakfast.

Until then, the ponies are receiving callers for hen parties and other events. Make your request by DM, before the ton snaps them all up. 🐴

🐴 Mungo and Reuben would love to visit more hospitals 🐴

This week the boys visited a children’s ward, and it was one of those days that reminds me why we do this. A little calm, a few smiles, and two very small ponies in a very big hospital.

These visits are voluntary and unpaid, and I’m happy to give my time. But each visit costs money: fuel, a helper so both ponies are safely handled, and plenty of supplies to keep everything clean and safe (vet wrap, tail bags, sanitiser, grooming kit and more). At the moment it all comes out of my own pocket.

I’ve set up a fundraiser to help cover those costs so we can say yes to more wards. Anything you can give, large or small, goes straight towards keeping the visits possible, and sharing this post helps just as much. 💚

What a morning! 🐴💙

Today Mungo and Reuben visited Skylark Ward at Kettering General Hospital to kick off Play in Healthcare Week, helping to raise awareness of just how important play is for children in hospital.

Hands down, this was the most wholesome and rewarding visit we’ve ever done. Seeing the smiles, grooming, cuddles and even a couple of Barbies hitching a ride made our hearts so full. 🥹

A huge thank you to the wonderful KGH Play Team for having us and for the amazing work you do every single day. We can’t wait to come back and see you all again! 💕

🐴💙 A little visit to Juniper House last week! 💙🐴

We had such a lovely time visiting everyone at Juniper House and bringing a little bit of pony magic along with us.

And if you’re wondering about the little blue wraps on the ponies’ feet… they’re Vet Wrap, helping give them some extra grip so they can safely walk across the floors. 🐴💙

It was a pleasure to spend some time with the residents and share some smiles, cuddles and a little bit of equine joy.

🎂 The centre of attention! 🎂

Last week we celebrated a very special first birthday in Birmingham, and Reuben was absolutely the star of the show. The children spent time making him look thoroughly beautiful and he wore it very well, if we do say so ourselves! 🐎

I even came home with a goodie bag of cake and delicious food, which might just be the best thank you a girl could ask for 🙌

It got me thinking back over the years to my own children’s birthdays and I realised I’ve made at least THREE Mungo and Reuben birthday cakes over time! Clearly these two have been the centre of attention in our house for quite a while now 😂 Swipe through to see a little trip down memory lane 👇
