Incredible gig last night from the Slocan Ramblers. For all of the 70 odd people who were there know what I’m talking about. A truly special evening. But only 70 odd people were there. 70. Many of whom had traveled further afield from St Davids.

I always get asked in the street if there are any gigs on or what’s coming up. Also what great thing it is for the community to have these world class musicians making the trek out west to play for us. But when only a handful of locals attend the gigs (you know who you are and you are very much appreciated) I really begin to question why I even bother to put these gigs on and deal with the stress of doing so.

Last night was something quite special, probably one of the best gigs I’ve put on and probably one of the most poorly attended ones I’ve put on.

It’s such a shame, I feel for all the promoters who do this, not for the money but for the love of music, but when promoters and venues start losing money it’s time to call it quits.

So do us all a favour, if you truly like music and value a ‘community offering’ just buy a ticket, or just spread the word, it all helps.

Thanks to all those who have supported me over the last few years, I truly appreciate it.

Oh, one last thing, these guys play The Taliesin in Swansea tonight. Get down there Swansea folk, you can always record bake off.

An impromptu night out in St. David’s this evening resulted in seeing this great band perform. Hill folk Noir gave a foot stomping performance making us want to go out and buy a washboard and a saw! 😉🎶 Thanks to Rob Marsh for making us feel so welcome. We’ll call again next time we’re down south.
