It’s been a busy week at Narrative Alchemy.

With our 2PearsFilms project we’ve been filming an updated version of Crossing the Line - our powerful short film raising awareness around abuse in sport. This new edition will be used with young people across the globe to spark vital conversations and promote safeguarding in sporting communities.

We’ve also been invited by the Cambridge Shakespeare Festival to support them with creative development consultancy and to help open up positive conversations with Equity, as the festival looks to grow and evolve in line with changes to the industry landscape.

Today, we’re in Birmingham, delivering a series of sessions at the Staff College conference, supporting facilitator training and development for professionals working with children and families.

We’ve also had a team out in Devon performing ‘Unaccpetable’ to schools in the county - raising awareness around sexism and misogyny.

And amidst all that, we’ve begun casting for an exciting new 2PearsFilms project in partnership with Leicester City Council.

More soon… but for now, a deep breath and a strong coffee!

Under our exciting new 2Pears Films collaboration, we’re thrilled to have been commissioned to create a new short film for an East Midlands local authority - supporting mums to feel more confident breastfeeding in public.

The film will raise awareness of baby-friendly spaces, offer practical tips, and remind everyone of the legal rights around feeding wherever your baby needs it.

We’re proud to be telling stories that support real change - and can’t wait to get this one out into the world.

The casting and on-set safeguarding support opportunities for this project will be out soon!

Great feedback just in from Reigate Grammar School.

‘I want to say thank you so much for performing this drama for us at RGS.

Please pass on...A special shout out and THANK YOU AGAIN to George, Charlotte and Liam who were truly amazing. It was a pleasure to meet them. They performed the influential, poignant and significant 'Unacceptable' play to our Third Form (Year 9) cohort yesterday morning.
It was pitched perfectly and conveyed such a meaningful message about misogyny, sexism, sexual harassment and abuse. The presentation incorporated an engaging and powerful message through words and music which left our students with such important food for thought on the importance and value of respect, kindness and gender equality.’

Huge congrats to our co-artistic director Sean McGrath, who graduated from The University of Cambridge last week, with an MSt in Writing for Performance. His focus on the course was ‘how stories and narrative create both mindset and behavioural change’ - something that feeds into all of our projects at Narrative Alchemy.

I’m incredibly proud to be bringing my applied theatre play ‘Unacceptable’ to Parliament this week.

After reaching over 30,000 young people in schools across the UK, I’m honoured to now share the play with MPs, policymakers, and key stakeholders.

‘Unacceptable’ is more than a play - it’s a conversation starter. A catalyst. An invitation to confront the everyday sexism and misogyny that too often go unchallenged.

At a time when harmful behaviours and attitudes are being normalised online and offline, I believe that age-appropriate, trauma-informed, early interventions matters more than ever.

This performance at Parliament is a great opportunity to spotlight the type of work that is going on around the UK and show what’s possible when theatre meets education and social change.

A huge well done to our ‘In the Net’ cast, Toby, Sophie, and Arran, who are finishing their 4 week tour today. Over the past month they’ve toured to thousands of primary school children throughout Gloucestershire, and the feedback has been amazing!
