My Story Adventures sessions are skilfully themed around popular storybooks and nursery-rhymes that will capture your child’s imagination and take them on a magical learning journey. Our primary aim is to promote reading for pleasure so to help give children the best start in life and feel ‘school confident’. Sessions have been carefully devised in collaboration with the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum. Influential studies reveal early reading programmes that specialise in empowering young children to read for pleasure, not only help them to dramatically excel in literacy skills, but also well-being, cognitive development, as well as higher attainment levels into primary and secondary education compared to those who don’t. Wonderful guest authors, singers, artists and musicians will be invited to join in the fun from time to time. Sessions are directed by Emma Nelson – highly trained, experienced and friendly Early Years’ Practitioner. (Emma's extensive skills-set is listed below). Through reading, singing, sensory-exploration, free-flow and role-play and with the help of multi-media technology stories will be brought to life to ignite young minds and imaginations. What’s more, children will be encouraged and supported to create their very own amazing story adventures; this is especially fun and interactive for older children, as well as for younger ones when parents/carers get involved. My Story Adventures encourage a community team effort - our friendly sessions are carefully planned to aid and optimise children’s learning potential as they try new things and lose themselves in the magic of My Story Adventures. Because we believe imagination has no boundaries - spontaneity and creative-thinking is always actively encouraged and celebrated. It is the journey of thinking, moving, enjoying and being that we want to harness to help nurturer your happy, confident communicators and readers - not so much the task-driven destination.
