I wish 16-year-old me would have known what the future had in store as I stood at the school gate on results day.

Yes, I was also the girl at the gate, secretly carrying a baby in her tummy.

I was the girl at the gate who had been secretly sick during exams.

I was the girl at the gate who was about to walk an entirely different path from any of my peers.

I became us -became family.

And we journeyed, as we still do today.
We journeyed with full hands and full hearts.

I found my purpose.

My most blessed calling.
Motherhood. 💙💙💙💓

Today, I’m the mum at the gate.
I’ve watched our own children carry that envelope and take very different paths.
I’ve watched them learn, and relearn.

I've watched them press on and pursue-making me more proud than they could ever comprehend.

This results day, you may face disappointment in that white envelope.

But:

Know there is a path for you.

Know that your worth is not defined by any results or degrees in life.

You are unique. There are things you were born to do, gifts still to be discovered -but you’ll only find them by moving forward.

God has something with your name on it.

You must work towards it. Start with what you have.

Two GCSE’s is where it began.
Then came certificates, one at a time.
A diploma, an apprenticeship, a foundation degree, a graduation.

I think life is one big lesson in progress.

It’s not too late.

Keep learning, keep striving, keep loving along the way.

I didn’t get here alone. Others walked this path before and beside me.

With God all things are possible 🙏🏻

Take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10 v 5.

Are negative thoughts storming your mind of late? raining down day & daily?

Thoughts have power, tying knots of negativity in our mind.

When this happens, we can find ourselves in a haze of hopelessness.

Thoughts and associated feelings are not always facts and we need to be aware of where they are coming from.

The Bible reminds us to take these thoughts captive and align them with His word.

For we do not wrestle against flesh & blood, but by powers and principalities and powers of darkness ( Ephesians 6v 12)

Friends- there is a battle going on and the battlefield is our mind.

Do you feel powerless, afraid, lost, unloved ?

What does scripture say about such thoughts?

God says you are loved.( John 15:13)

God says he has a plan for your life . (Jeremiah 29:11)

God says we have hope ( Isaiah 40:31)

God is our refuge and strength- an ever present help in trouble ( Psalm 46v1 )

You and I- we have power through Christ.

When showers of fear and negativity come, hold it accountable and speak back with biblical truth, the word of God.

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things.( Phil 4:8)Kingdom & Kinthese things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us) Romans 8:37

THE BLUEBELL BALL đź’ś

Far beneath the ancient trees
Where April’s sunlight casts her beam
The forest floor has been regaled
In bells of blue and violet haze.

Dainty tops and gentle curls
Their sweet abundance to unfurl
Dressed in jewels of glorious gold
Their charming beauty to bestow.

And to their captivating peals
They sway and saunter, lilt and lean
And spreading their magnificent gown
They pause, once more in graceful bow .

The way we communicate has changed.

In a time where words are sent at speed, where face to face conversations have largely been substituted, it’s worth pausing and asking :

🤍Are my words necessary?
💜Are they true and aligned with God’s word?
🤍Are they helpful?
đź’śAre they going to bring hurt, happiness or healing?

Gods word reminds us to consider the words we speak- and in today’s digital age- the words we send 🤍

The Firefighter

A firefighters job is risky, Lord
But it’s a job they’re proud to do
From the second the alerter goes
Til the rush of “ blues and twos”.

It’s commitment, courage, the unknown
It’s endurance, stamina, fight
It’s the want to help all in need
But it’s facing harrowing sights.

They’re here to serve, answer each call
Be part of a great brigade
Stand side by side with their fellow crew
And be ready to come to their aid.

Day or night , fire or foe
They’ll risk all to face the task
Please protect them whilst on duty, Lord
Our men and women behind the mask.

WGH As the fires rage and the fight goes on in the Mourne mountains, this is my prayer . Our emergency services # thankful # we salute you
