Great night celebrating local filmmakers last night. We showed amazing short film from our Creative Academy Young film makers group and documentary on mapping the Usk. Food provided by ☺️ thank you for supporting such a good night. More please!

We are excited to be able to share this fantastic project by and at The Newport Rising Hub. Previously on show It's a beautiful collaboration of a community's memories and reflections surrounding the Usk.

We invite you to come in to and contribute to the project by using the materials provided to either write or draw or mark make, and leave your own memories and thoughts of this living river at the heart of our community.

We wanted to 'bring the map into public places along the Usk, asking the community what does the river mean to you? What stories do you have about the river? How has the river changed?'

There is also a wonderful documentary by our own which will be shown in (date to be confirmed) but you can check it out on YouTube below.

SATURDAY - 10th January at the Newport Rising Hub: 10AM-12PM - we will be hosting a relaxed screening of Sadia Pineda Hameed's 'SIGNALS' (runtime: 8-minutes) followed by a discussion and Q&A with the artist.

Please come along! It's free to attend and should spark some interesting conversations about art and filmmaking. This is also an opportunity to meet or join our Rising Filmmakers group who will be in attendance.

We are situated in Gold Tops in the basement of Everett and Tomlin. Entrance to the rear of the car park. Access via steps.

At Goldtops, we’re proud to be one of Newport’s independent creative studios — a collaborative space where artists, musicians, and filmmakers work side-by-side to develop meaningful, original work.

Our little community brings together a wide range of disciplines, from visual arts and film production to graphic design and illustration. We also design and build bespoke sets, props, and installations for films, events, and creative projects of all kinds.

We have had the pleasure of working with and recently worked on as well as the Summer Sessions for .

Goldtops is more than a workspace; it’s a professional hub for innovation, craftsmanship, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
