🐎 Where giants meet the road

The Kelpies rising above the landscape of Falkirk, framed beneath a dramatic Scottish sky.

I wanted to capture them a little differently — using the crossing and road markings to lead the eye towards these incredible sculptures.

🗿 The Upright — Burg Kronberg 🇩🇪

Standing quietly within the ancient walls of Kronberg Castle, these carved wooden figures represent characters from the castle’s long history.

The atmosphere inside the Pentagonal Tower caught my attention — centuries-old stone, towering wooden figures and a small opening of light above creating an almost mysterious scene.

⚔️ Vikings at Warwick Castle

History came to life at Warwick Castle as warriors, horses and weapons filled the arena.

Capturing moments like these is a very different challenge from landscape or wildlife photography. The action is unpredictable, the movement is constant, and there is often only a fraction of a second to capture the moment.

From charging horses and raised weapons to the expressions of the performers, these are a few moments I captured during the Viking battle.

🚆 Bernina Express Through the Swiss Alps

Some journeys are about more than simply reaching the destination.

The Bernina Express winding its way through the Swiss Alps is one of those journeys where every turn brings a completely different view.

From snow-covered mountains and alpine valleys to misty forests and dramatic viaducts, the landscape constantly changes — and the red train seems to become part of the scenery.

✈️ Heathrow from a different perspective

There’s something fascinating about photographing aircraft from underneath — the shapes, colours, wings and liveries become completely different from what we normally see from the ground or inside an airport.

A few moments from photographing aircraft at Heathrow, where I focused on capturing the details and character of each aircraft against the open sky.

From colourful liveries to the huge wings passing overhead, every aircraft offered a different composition.

🐴 A Scottish icon, with a little wildlife in the foreground

The Kelpies are one of Scotland’s most striking landmarks, inspired by the mythical water horses said to inhabit Scotland’s lochs and rivers.

While photographing them, I noticed these two swans resting on the grass in front of the sculptures. I waited for the moment when they naturally became part of the composition, creating an unexpected contrast between the enormous steel horses and the quiet scene in the foreground.

Sometimes the best photographs happen when you simply stop, look around, and notice what is already there. 📸

Silverstone at full throttle 🏍️💨

A couple of moments from MotoGP at Silverstone — tracking the bikes as they flew past and using panning to capture that sense of speed. Getting the bike sharp while letting the background streak takes a bit of timing, but when it works, it really brings the motion to life.

Two different machines, two different moments, same incredible speed. 🏁

🦌 A Quiet Moment in the Highlands

Two beautiful stags standing in the middle of the Scottish landscape, with the historic railway viaduct rising behind them.

I was lucky enough to catch the first one looking straight towards me — a completely different kind of portrait, surrounded by nothing but nature. In the second frame, having two stags together with the viaduct in the background made the scene feel even more special.

Scotland really has a way of bringing history and wildlife into the same frame. 🏔️🦌

🏛️ Looking Up at the Scott Monument

One of those moments when I simply stopped and looked up.

The Scott Monument is such an incredible piece of Gothic architecture, and I loved how the arches naturally frame the statue of Sir Walter Scott. The warm evening light coming through the side added a beautiful glow and a little bit of magic to the scene.

Sometimes, the best way to photograph a familiar landmark is simply to change your perspective. 📸

🎺 A Little Street Music in Edinburgh

A candid moment near Edinburgh Castle — a street musician playing his violin while his little companion calmly steals the attention. 😄🐶

I loved how the scene came together: the musician, his vintage hat, the warm tones, and especially the dog sitting there as if he’s part of the performance.

Sometimes the best street photographs are the moments you don’t plan for.
