Fancy trying something new, building your confidence, meeting like-minded people and having a good laugh along the way?

Join us for a series of FREE TO BOOK (pay what you feel at the end), beginner-friendly comedy workshops, supported by Cramlington Town Council and facilitated by acclaimed comedian Prue Blake! 🎭

Across the sessions, you'll explore:

📖 Storytelling
🎤 Performance
⏱️ Timing
✨ Stage presence

But it’s about much more than just getting laughs. These welcoming workshops are designed to help build confidence, support positive mental wellbeing, develop resilience, encourage creativity and connect people in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Whether you've always fancied trying stand-up, want to improve your public speaking, or are simply looking for a fun new hobby, you'll be warmly welcomed.
No previous comedy or performance experience needed! 🙌

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Big Kid Toys are the official sponsors of the very first North Shields Comedy Club: New Act of the Year! 🏆🎤

On Sunday 18 October, ten of the North East’s funniest new comedians will take to the stage at The Loading Bay, Salt Market Social, all competing to become the first-ever North Shields Comedy Club New Act of the Year.

And when we started thinking about who we'd love to have involved in helping make this happen, there was one name that immediately came to mind: Big Kid Toys.
Based right here in North Shields, Big Kid Toys is a proper bricks-and-mortar toy shop specialising in vintage, retro and modern toys and collectables — but they’re so much more than that.
Chris and Delta have built something genuinely special: a fantastic community around a shop filled with brilliant things, run by two of the most passionate, knowledgeable and downright wonderful people you could hope to meet.
They’re huge champions of North Shields and North Tyneside, and the community they’ve built — and the values behind it — feel completely aligned with everything we’re trying to do with North Shields Comedy Club.
Also, if you’ve ever had an online meeting with our MD Si, there’s a very good chance you’ve already seen some of their stock in the background… because, let's just say, he's a regular customer. 😂

🚨 WE'RE DOING SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT... 🚨

We're proud to run free (or Pay What You Feel) comedy workshops across our communities, helping hundreds of people build confidence, make friends and discover just how much fun comedy can be.

❤️ Those workshops aren't going anywhere.

But... we're also incredibly excited to announce something new.

🎤 Find Your Funny – a brand-new 4-week Stand-up Comedy Course at Queen's Hall, Hexham, led by the brilliant Prue Blake.

This is our first premium course in Northumberland, and it's part of building something really special in the county alongside our amazing partners at Queen's Hall.

Across four weekly sessions you'll learn:
✨ Joke writing
✨ Storytelling
✨ Performance skills
✨ Timing & stage presence
✨ How to turn everyday life into comedy

No experience needed. Just bring yourself, a notebook, and a willingness to give it a go.

🎭 The course finishes with an optional showcase performance for friends and family if you'd like to step into the spotlight.

💷 This is a paid course (£190), allowing us to deliver a more in-depth programme with expert tuition in a fantastic venue, while continuing to invest in the free community workshops Little Robot CIC is known for.
