Whitney Houston – I’m Your Baby Tonight (Dronez Club Mix). Arista, 2000. House Masters Classic 09.

Whitney’s 1990 number one, rebuilt as a vocal house record. L.A. Reid and Babyface wrote and produced the original, her eighth US No. 1. In April 2000 Arista put eight of her full-length club mixes into a limited 4 x 12” box, The Unreleased Mixes, alongside Junior Vasquez and David Morales. This one is Side H, 8 minutes 34, by The Dronez, the Subliminal trio named best remixers at the 1999 Muzik Awards.

Filmed at House Masters nights at The Courtyard, Middlesbrough, cut with Whitney’s 1990 video and her 1991 Welcome Home Heroes show.

1996. Ken Doh – Nakasaki (I Need A Lover Tonight) (12” Version). FFRR. House Masters Classic 08.

It started as a Newcastle white label on Nice Vinyl in August 1995, an instrumental written by Michael Devlin and engineered by Steve Burgess. Pete Tong played it at Cream that October and opened his disc of the Essential Mix CD with it. FFRR picked it up, Daneel’s vocal came in with Liverpool’s 3 Beat, and in March 1996 it entered the chart at No. 7 and topped the Dance Chart. Sonique sang on the Jules & Skins remix, four years before her own No. 1.
