At our last showcase my dear friend and amazing photographer Lauren took these photos of my beaming smile so I thought I'd use them to write a bit of a personal post, bear with, it'll be a long one... ✍🏼
I'm Laura, I moved from the Netherlands, where I'm from and grew up, to Newcastle almost 7 years ago to the day. It's been an incredible journey so far, one that shows me every single day that moving was the right choice. The absolutely beautiful people I have met and become friends with over the years are the cause of that beaming smile you see.
People like Lauren, Grace, Celia, Mim, Krzysztof, Tim, John, and many many others support me and hype me up when I need some words of encouragement (or any other time), and make the LLIVELY Showcases the welcoming safe space and ever growing community they are.
On the 26th of July I will be celebrating 7 years of being an adopted Geordie, nearly celebrating my 31st, and looking forward to many more years in the north east, together with, hopefully you, as well as my folks who'll be visiting from the Netherlands, it'll be incredibly special and I truly can't wait.
We'll be at a venue that has been pivotal in my growth as a music industry professional within the UK with a line-up of very very special people, so it'll be one not to miss! If you can't be there, there'll be plenty of other events for you to attend, and if you have read this entire post I still love you just for your attention span.
