Think I might have been heard to say something similar, once or twice. 🤣🤣
An important practice tip for all of us to remember!! 😎🎶🎶🎶🎶
Yep that’s pretty much the whole lifelong process. 🤔😉👍🏻
Today has been spent planning our next Zoom Pipeworks, which is taking place next Saturday 20th February 1300hrs GMT. It is aimed at less competent sight readers, and we will be looking at playing harmonies, and learning a tune by ear. If you are interested in joining us, or would like more information please drop me an email. [email protected] 🙂🎼🎶🎵
Thanks to everyone who attended our Zoom Pipeworks this afternoon. Especially Edric Ellis for leading a great session. Hope you all enjoyed it. See you again soon. 🎶🎶
Second most important thing for our pipeworks sorted - music and zoom link dispatched. :-)
Getting ready for our Zoom Pipeworks on Saturday. Starting with the important thing - baking the cake. 😁🎂😜
Well the festive season has officially started. We even had Santa visit our Festive Zoom pipeworks this evening. ;-) Thanks to everyone who came, and those who led tunes for our play around. We reached as far as Australia, both sides of the USA, France and Denmark, and the 4 corners of England! We played some new tunes, some old favourites, and shared some great company. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and look forward to seeing some of you at our next pipeworks on 23rd January. Happy Christmas.🎁🎉🌲☃️🥳
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Zoom Pipeworks this afternoon. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Thanks especially to David Somerville and Andrew Burn who led a couple of the sessions. We will be holding our next 'Winter themed' session in a couple of weeks. Friday 11th December 7.30pm GMT. We are hoping that the timing of this will allow some of our 'down under' and American piper friends to join us.
Well the cake is ready for tomorrow's East of England Zoom Pipeworks. 😁
Fantastic end to our pipe course. Concert with Andy and Chris. Thanks to them and everyone who supported us.
Another great afternoon of piping with Chris and Andy. Followed by a great concert with Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer.
Great first day of our Zoom pipe week. Thanks to our tutors Andy May and Chris Ormston, all of our participants and to Kim Bull for an interesting evening talking about reeds. Tomorrow we are looking forward to some more workshops and evening concert with Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer.
Introductory session over. Looking forward to the rest of the week. 😀
Only half an hour to go!! Hope you all enjoyed the NPS concert last night, always a good way to start our Northumbria Pipe Week. See you all soon.
Only 36 hours to go, until our Northumbria Zoom week starts. We are looking forwad to seeing all of our participants.
Non participants are welcome to join our 2 concerts, the second of which is with Andy May and Chris Ormston on Friday evening.
Hope to see some of you there.
As part of our Northumbria Zoom Pipe week we have a couple of evening concerts that we are opening up to non participants. The first is Tuesday evening, with Vicki and Jonny Dyer.
Only 5 days to go until our pipe week starts. as well as our workshops we have evening events, that are also available to non participants for a nominal charge. Keep watching this space for more information. :-)
Only 6 days until we start our Northumbria Zoom week. we are busy finalising things. Watch this space for evening activities that non participants can join. Or if you suddenly find yourselves 'locked down' with nothing to do, we still have a couple of places available. (Suitable for Northumbrian pipers of interemediate to advanced ability).
Another lovely afternoon of Zoom pipeworks, playing slow tunes with gracing and harmonies. Thanks to all who attended and those who led tunes in our play around. Hope to see you all again soon.
Next stop - Northumbria Zoom Week. :-)
Looking for piping opportunities?
Why not try our Northumbria Zoom Week. 11-16 October 2020.
This is a new (hopefully one off) venture for all involved, so we are not sure how well it will all work.
It is aimed at players of intermediate/advanced ability. It will not be like our ‘normal Northumbria Pipe week’, but we will do our best to make it an enjoyable, instructive and a ‘shared experience’. However you may find there is less group playing sessions than you might expect in a normal face to face course.
The week will be spread across 6 days from Sunday 11th – Friday 16th October, with some optional sessions for those with a lot of Zoom stamina! (Provisional timetable attached)
We have an introductory/tech session on Sunday which will take the form of introductions, followed by a play around. Tunes will be led by tutors (Andy May and Chris Ormston) so you can set the levels on your device, and each participant, so that we can make sure your device settings are ready for the workshops/lessons.
Monday/Tuesday/Friday will be afternoon sessions comprising 3 x 45min workshops, with breaks between. After a ‘dinner’ [evening meal] break, we will have an evening talk/concert.
Half hour individual lessons will be programmed on Wednesday morning / Thursday.
Anyone who would like to join Longframlington Pipe group on Wednesday afternoon, and London Pipe group on Thursday evening are welcome to do so.

Thanks to everyone who joined us today for our Zoom pipeworks. We played some good tunes, and you were all very helpful with your recipies for my courgettes! Hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. I had meant to take a photo but was so busy I forgot!!
Think we are ready for our Zoom Pipeworks tomorrow. Music and zoom invitation sent and cake made. Didn't use much of my courgette though!! 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks to everyone for joining us this afternoon. Hopefully we can meet for real in November.
Just about to start East of England pipeworks. :-)
