Today has been spent planning our next Zoom Pipeworks, which is taking place next Saturday 20th February 1300hrs GMT. It is aimed at less competent sight readers, and we will be looking at playing harmonies, and learning a tune by ear. If you are interested in joining us, or would like more information please drop me an email. [email protected] 🙂🎼🎶🎵

Well the festive season has officially started. We even had Santa visit our Festive Zoom pipeworks this evening. ;-) Thanks to everyone who came, and those who led tunes for our play around. We reached as far as Australia, both sides of the USA, France and Denmark, and the 4 corners of England! We played some new tunes, some old favourites, and shared some great company. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and look forward to seeing some of you at our next pipeworks on 23rd January. Happy Christmas.🎁🎉🌲☃️🥳

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Zoom Pipeworks this afternoon. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Thanks especially to David Somerville and Andrew Burn who led a couple of the sessions. We will be holding our next 'Winter themed' session in a couple of weeks. Friday 11th December 7.30pm GMT. We are hoping that the timing of this will allow some of our 'down under' and American piper friends to join us.

Well the cake is ready for tomorrow's East of England Zoom Pipeworks. 😁

Looking for piping opportunities?
Why not try our Northumbria Zoom Week. 11-16 October 2020.
This is a new (hopefully one off) venture for all involved, so we are not sure how well it will all work.
It is aimed at players of intermediate/advanced ability. It will not be like our ‘normal Northumbria Pipe week’, but we will do our best to make it an enjoyable, instructive and a ‘shared experience’. However you may find there is less group playing sessions than you might expect in a normal face to face course.
The week will be spread across 6 days from Sunday 11th – Friday 16th October, with some optional sessions for those with a lot of Zoom stamina! (Provisional timetable attached)
We have an introductory/tech session on Sunday which will take the form of introductions, followed by a play around. Tunes will be led by tutors (Andy May and Chris Ormston) so you can set the levels on your device, and each participant, so that we can make sure your device settings are ready for the workshops/lessons.
Monday/Tuesday/Friday will be afternoon sessions comprising 3 x 45min workshops, with breaks between. After a ‘dinner’ [evening meal] break, we will have an evening talk/concert.
Half hour individual lessons will be programmed on Wednesday morning / Thursday.
Anyone who would like to join Longframlington Pipe group on Wednesday afternoon, and London Pipe group on Thursday evening are welcome to do so.
If you have any queries, or to reserve a place and request a booking form, please contact [email protected]
