🎃 Calling All Horror, Gothic & Alternative Traders! 🖤

Are you a small business with a passion for all things horror, gothic, spooky or wonderfully nerdy?

As part of the Fear Screen International Horror Film Festival we're bringing an Alternative Market to Middlesbrough on Thursday 5 November, running from 10:00am – 4:00pm (with trader load-in from 8:00am and pack-down by 5:00pm).

We're looking for unique traders selling:
🖤 Horror merchandise & collectibles
🎮 Nerdy & pop culture products
🦇 Gothic clothing, accessories & artwork
📚 Horror books, crafts, handmade gifts and more

We are looking for passionate, reliable volunteers to join the team for this year’s festival running from 30th October to 13th November.

This is a hands-on opportunity to be part of an independent horror film festival, gain real event experience, and work closely with filmmakers and creatives.

It is also a strong opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about the film and TV industry, especially students studying film, media, or production. Fear Screen is run by professionals with credits across major studios including Warner Bros., Netflix, Disney, and more, giving you real insight into how the industry works.

We also have tasks and roles available starting now, so you can get involved early, begin building connections, and start learning ahead of the festival.

We do not expect you to commit to all 14 days. We are looking to build a flexible team and will rota shifts to work around both your availability and festival needs.

Important: This is an on-site role. You must be based in or able to travel to Middlesbrough.

To be part of the team, you will also need to attend our online planning meetings (Thursdays at 7pm):

As a volunteer, you will support screenings, assist guests, help run events, and play a key role in delivering an unforgettable festival experience.

All volunteers will also be invited to our official wrap party at RISE Newcastle. Entry is free for festival staff. The event runs from 10:30pm to 4:00am on Saturday 14th November, and attendees must be 18 or over.
