Somewhat blocked these past few days, did a quick nebula, it’s not my finest moment. Hopefully I’ll get the spark back soon, just need to find the right inspiration.

Already regretting this one 😭

For my next project, I'm tackling the stage before the heat death of the universe.

This landscape isn't even finished yet and I'm nearly 7 hours in. And, naturally, I haven't even started the sky yet... which happens to be the main feature of the bloody picture.

The finished piece will be a 4K widescreen image, which I'm then planning to animate in Procreate Dreams and turn into a YouTube video.

It's definitely going to be one of the more ambitious things I've attempted, but I'm actually quite excited about this one.

This is Local Man — he’s going to be a recurring character in some of my work from now on. You’ll probably never see his face, and I’m not entirely sure where he’s from, but he does seem to have a habit of making regrettable decisions.

I played with the liquify tool here, then realised I actually prefer just drawing water myself - I think that pavement looks suitably wet!

I’ve also done a version with some text on it. I’m thinking I might have a go at making some slightly inappropriate, possibly rather sad birthday cards with a few of these illustrations.

I quite like the idea of Local Man getting himself into more and more mischief as I go along, so I think you’ll be seeing a fair bit more of him, he perfectly embodies what I wanted Heatdeath to be about - Existential British Misery 😁

Midnight snack - the drawing this time.
Don't lie, sometimes you just open the fridge door and stare, well death doesn't put an end to that habit. Poor thing only has eggs to choose from.

I tried something a bit different with this one and brought some colour into it. I'm not normally a big fan of working in colour, but I actually really enjoyed painting this one, so there might be a few more experiments like this to come.

If you're struggling right now, remember that someone has been where you are.

Someone has felt the loneliness, the exhaustion, the feeling that nobody could possibly understand.

You don't have to have the right words. Sometimes just knowing that someone sees you is enough.

And if you know someone who's struggling, let them know you're there.
