Although closed to the public during lockdown, for upcoming events at Newham Grange Farm check out their page. Reconnecting Communities is a Great Place Tees Valley project, created to help Tees Valley cultural venues rebuild and strengthen connections with local communities and audiences, during the COVID 19 pandemic. The project will enable us to undertake research and development focusing on generating new ideas that can help us to consider new ways of working, connecting and widening our visitor base, enabling us to engage with participants and get a real understanding about their wider wants in terms of visitor experience and thoughts around participation during COVID. We imagine that a series of taster workshops and programmes will be delivered over the contract period that can help us to achieve our visions and develop our understanding. The main role of the artist/creative practitioner will be to:
To engage and consult with the community around the farm and wider area.
To pilot cultural/arts activity/ workshops whilst helping to raise the profile of the farm and its functions as a leisure facility.
Work with the cultural learning officers and farm team to develop complimentary cultural engagement opportunities
Develop and deliver workshops that uses art as a response to the sustainable visions of the farm, its uses and its history.
Evaluate and analyse the programmes and workshops
