On Saturday our Captain Luke Johnson was our MOM in our impressive away victory at Dalton

Luke directed the team around from start to finish with an impeccable performance. Grabbing one try and 6 conversions

Glasson Rangers travelled down the coast to 2nd placed Dalton A.

Glasson started the game strongly with an early try from Connor Wilson goal kicked by Luke Johnson. 6-0 the score were level not long after dalton scored direct from a scrum racing in from 70 metre. 6-6. Glasson responded quickly as a Luke Johnson show & go split the dalton line as walk in under the sticks. Goal by Johnson 12-6. Dalton responded with a try of their own as their 9 carved through from 50 out to score. 12-12.
Glasson kept applying the pressure as the game moved toward half time. Matthew Burns jumped over to give Glasson the lead again Johnson adding another goal. half time 18-12

The 2nd period show Glasson dominated with try at regular intervals. Wilson & Burns added there 2nd tries each with 1 being converted by Johnson. 28-12. The Rangers then were reduced to 12 men as Kieran McCartney was sent to the sin bin for talking out of term to the match official. It was 12 aside a few minute later as Dalton had a man sent off for dissent. As the final 20 mins of the game approached Glasson again showed their dominance with Wilson getting his hat trick before Shane Williams his own try to the scoreline, Johnson great kicking display continue with a further 2 goals. 40-12. There was late consolation for dalton after sustained pressure on the Glasson tryline 40-16. Glasson had the final say with Lee Howard getting a try on the final whistle. Williams added the goal 46-16.

A great win for the Rangers on the road.
Luke Johnson was named by the opposition as man of the match with a number of players running him close.

As a coaching group we were very happy with the performance. Right from the start we applied pressure to Dalton & kept to our structures which we reap the rewards of that with some great tries. Focus now turns to the Derby away to Maryport A Saturday.

This weekend we travel to 2nd placed Dalton A. I am sure the bus will be full of not just players but some of loyal supporters. The lads really appreciate the support they have received this season so far.

We've had a couple of weeks off. But if we go back to the Maryport A performance as coaching group we were very pleased with the performance. Credit goes to the lads who have worked hard in training & worked on the area we needed to improve. There is a great buzz with the lads at the minute & we all know that 1st win is only around the corner.

Saturday will hopefully see the return of a couple of lads. One being Scott Burns who's been on the sideline since playing Wath Brow in late March. Lee Howard is another one who's missed the last few games after a couple of promising performance earlier in the season.

"As a group we go there full of confidence we can put a performance in that will help put us in position to control games better & ultimately get a win"
