We Will Never Forget Captain Gavin Hamilton MC 🇫🇰🇬🇧

On this day in 1982, Captain Gavin Hamilton was killed during a skirmish near Port Howard, West Falkland, while serving his country with courage, determination, and selfless devotion to duty.

Captain Hamilton's bravery under fire and leadership in the face of danger earned him the Military Cross, one of the United Kingdom's highest awards for gallantry. His actions that day reflected the very finest traditions of military service and remain an enduring example of courage and sacrifice.

Today, Captain Hamilton rests at Port Howard, the place where he gave his life. His memory continues to live on, not only through those who remember his service but also through Hamilton Point in West Falkland, which proudly bears his name in recognition of his sacrifice.

More than four decades later, his legacy remains a powerful reminder of the price paid by those who serve. We honour his courage, remember his sacrifice, and give thanks for his service.
