Superbia

Superbia Manchester Pride's year-round calendar of q***r arts & culture. 🧡 Welcome to Superbia! We do this in three ways:
1.

Superbia aims to support, curate, fund and celebrate LGBTQ+ life across Greater Manchester with debate, film, comedy, literature, music, sport, theatre, family- and community-led projects – all with the aim of encouraging engagement and well-being, and to culturally enhance the community. By supporting existing LGBTQ+ events with promotion and marketing.
2. By funding LGBTQ+ events via the Superbi

a Grants programme.
3. By curating original Superbia events through collaboration with partners, venues, groups, curators, community members, artists and creatives. We aim to keep our events free of charge, diverse, accessible, intelligent and welcoming!

Calling all film lovers! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Looking for something to watch this weekend? We've got you covered ✨

Levan Akin centres the spirit of Istanbul’s trans community in CROSSING – a story of unlikely connection which transcends cultural divides with hope at its heart.

Lia, a retired school teacher living in Georgia, hears from a young neighbour Achi that her long lost niece Tekla, a transgender woman, has crossed the border into Turkey. Hoping to bring Tekla home after a period of estrangement, Lia travels to Istanbul with the unpredictable Achi to find her. Exploring the hidden depths of the city, they cross paths with a transgender lawyer called Evrim, who helps them in their search.

🧡 SUPERBIA CINEMA 🧡

Learn more about the intersection of q***rness and neurodiversity at this month’s Superbia Cinema 🧠🌈

Society hasn't always possessed the right language to articulate the neurodivergent experience, however the boldness and unique perspectives that neurodivergent communities bring to creative spaces has the power to challenge societal norms and change the conversation around neurodiversity, making for moving and relevant film and art 🎬

We’re proud to be showcasing a selection of 12 fantastic films by q***r and neurodivergent creatives on Thursday 15th June at Cultplex!

🌟 Superbia cinema: Neurodiversity Captured on Film 🌟

We're back at Cultplex next month for another Superbia Cinema screening! 🎬

Neurodivergent people often do not see themselves represented in film and media, however many of us are working in the industry undiagnosed and unrecognised. This month, we’ll be uplifting neurodivergent artists and filmmakers as we showcase a series of shorts portraying bold and unique ND perspectives and experiences 🧡
