“Anarchy in the U.K.” by the S*x Pistols was released — loud, raw, and ready to tear up the rulebook.
Still one of the most iconic punk tracks ever made.
Still sounds like a riot.
Still gives that “let’s shake things up” energy 49 years later.

Gary Mani Mounfield of The Stone Roses and Primal Scream has died aged 63 💔

Some facts about Mani:

Born in Manchester, Mani left school at 16 to follow his passion for music.

He joined The Stone Roses in 1987 and played on both of their iconic studio albums.

After the Roses split in 1996, he joined Primal Scream, before reuniting with The Roses in 2011.
He was a devoted father to his twin sons.

Mani’s basslines — from “I Wanna Be Adored” to “I Am the Resurrection” — helped define an era. He wasn’t just a great musician, but a true figure in the Madchester scene.

Im sure he will be “Breaking into Heaven.”

📀 On this day — November 18, 1991 (34 years ago)

U2 released Achtung Baby — one of the most important reinventions in rock history.

What’s wild is that this album almost didn’t happen.

➡️ During recording in Berlin at Hansa Studios (near the fallen Berlin Wall), the band was struggling so much they nearly split.
➡️ Then they wrote “One” — the song that literally saved U2 from breaking up.
➡️ The whole album marked a massive shift from their classic 80s sound into something darker, more experimental, and heavily influenced by the new European music scene of the time.

Still one of the greatest “let’s completely reinvent ourselves” albums ever.

🎶 On this day in music history — 17-11-70

Elton John’s iconic live album 17-11-70 was recorded on this date back in 1970, during a live radio broadcast from A&R Studios in New York.

Fun trivia: 💡

The performance was so good that bootleg copies started circulating, which eventually pushed the label to release it officially.

When the album came out in 1971, it reached No. 11 on the Billboard charts, and Elton became the first artist since The Beatles to have four albums on the U.S. charts at once.

Elton has said he considers this one of his best live performances ever — with incredible playing from Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson.

The original concert featured 13 songs, but only 6 made the initial album release.

A later anniversary edition (“17-11-70+”) finally included the full performance.

During the show, Elton played with such intensity that he reportedly cut his hand on the piano keys and kept going. Legend. 🎹🔥

Can you believe this classic is 30 years old? Time flies! ⏳

Some fun facts: 💡
It was the second single from The Great Escape.
The music video is a tribute to A Clockwork Orange, and the cover art nods to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Hit #5 on the UK singles chart.
Many see it as Blur stepping out of the Britpop battle and going full cinematic.

Still sounds as epic today as it did back then.
