Sheba Arts is looking for a Part-Time Freelance Content Creator to join our team and help bring our programmes, events and stories to life online. ✨

📍 Location: Salford, with some work across Greater Manchester
💻 Working arrangement: Hybrid — 75% office/site-based, 25% WFH
🕐 Hours: 14 hours per week
📄 Contract: Freelance, 6 months

Highlights from the closing night of Sheba Festival 2026! 🧡✨

We brought our festival to a close with an evening of theatre, music and gratitude.

The programme featured The Migrant Bird, a solo theatre performance directed by Noushin Afshar and performed by Vahideh Afsari, exploring migration, identity, loss and resilience. 🎭

We also enjoyed Osinobi, an original live music composition by Aliah Brewster, exploring heritage, memory and intergenerational connection through music, animation and field recordings. 🎶

The evening ended with food from Sips & Dips, bringing artists, audiences and our team together to reflect, connect and celebrate. 🧡

Highlights from our Poetry, Play & Music Evening! 🎭🎶📖

The evening started with a powerful commissioned performance by Hadisa Afzaly, who shared original poetry, including a moving poem in Farsi. We also had an Open Mic with members of the Sheba Scribes group, Natasha Tingle and Cansu Han. Other poets, Elmi Ali and Sujatha Pillai also performed their poetry.

We also premiered Asking A Masc Le***an To Open A Jar, a new play-in-verse commissioned for Sheba Festival 2026 by Jack So and Nara Rasool.

Closing the evening with a captivating live performance by Gulcin Bulut, blending Turkish folk and Sufi traditions.

🎨 Highlights from our recent workshop at Taste Africana! It was a beautiful painting session filled with creativity and fun. Thank you so much for coming all and Taste Africana for hosting it in your space

The time we gathered to eat, write, and remember. ✨

Highlights from our poetry workshop with Jack So. We spent an intimate, relaxed, and tasty afternoon exploring memories through poetry, colourful writing prompts, and shared conversation.

Jack brought childhood snacks that held special meaning. This invited us to reflect on the stories, places, and people connected to us.

Together, we embraced nostalgia, celebrated our roots, and experimented with writing recipe poems. We blended memories, and imagination into something truly unique.

✨ Sheba Youth Group ✨

We had a heartfelt celebration of the creativity, confidence, and talent of our young people.

Inspired by this year's festival theme, Still We Rise, our young artists shared original work through music, poetry, animation, dance, painting, and photography.

Each piece explored powerful themes of identity, cultural heritage, resilience, hope, and belonging, offering a unique insight into their lived experiences and creative journeys.

It was a joy to see family, friends, and our wider community come together to support and celebrate these inspiring young creatives.

A huge thank you to Aria, Aisa and Ava for giving interviews to BBC Radio Manchester. And to Kian and Ava for their interviews for our video which you can watch now. 🎥

Highlights from Community Crafts and Tea Blend at Crowcroft Park! 🌿🧡

People of all ages came together to celebrate creativity, connection and community. Visitors enjoyed herbal tea making with The Community Patch, banner making with Tina Ramos, and live music from Martim Pocinho.

We were also delighted to welcome Emma Goswell from BBC Radio Manchester, who interviewed members of our team, commissioned artists and participants.

A special highlight was hearing from our youth group members Ava, Aisa and Aria, who shared what being part of Sheba Festival 2026 meant to them.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so welcoming, creative and joyful. 🧡
