My words for Queen Elizabeth II.
“The skies tonight are darker,
As we’ve lost our English rose.
Our dearest Queen Elizabeth,
Your story shall always be told.
You truly served our country,
With such dignity and care.
As a nation we join together now,
With a grief we all must share.
Thank you Ma’am for everything,
You more than played your part.
Your country feels your loss tonight,
But holds you in our heart.” ❤️

After a long (rather hot) day of LAMDA Examinations in Acting and Musical Theatre, I would like to congratulate all my students on their hard work, dedication and professionalism. I was so proud of you all today. Also, thank you to all the parents for their continued support, encouragement and for sending your children looking so smart today, giving a real sense of occasion. They represented you and our school extremely well.

Last night was my final ever lesson with these two young ladies. I have been teaching Emily and Jenna for last 14yrs. It has been such a privilege to not only watch them both grow in to such talented actresses but to see them become such amazing you women with extremely bright futures ahead of them. I will miss you both so much and I will always be here for you throughout your lives. Love always. Helen. X 🎭 🎶 ❤️

I wanted to share this lovely moment with you all. This is Ellie who is 7yrs old. When she arrived at her drama lesson today she told us she had been learning the "cup song" and wanted to perform it for us. We thought you were amazing Ellie. Well done gorgeous! 👏❤️
Yesterday we went to watch the new Downton film with mum and dad, which was fabulous. As we were leaving the Trafford centre we noticed the piano free for anyone to show their skills, so of course we persuaded mum to play. As we linked arms walking back to the car I said "how long have you been playing the piano now mum" to which she replied "74yrs".
Whilst she was playing there were 3 teenage girls watching/listening open mouthed and smiling and a young family who also clapped. I was so proud to see my mum in her element with a lump in throat. As her close friend Ian used to call her "the kitten of the keyboards".
On Saturday evening we were able to hold our annual "Evening of Entertainment" once again, the first time since 2019. This is a special evening for all the acting and musical theatre Lamda students to perform for their families. This year we had a really varied mix from Tennessee Williams to Shakespeare and Oklahoma to The Greatest Showman. Such a wealth of talented young people on that stage. I couldn't have been more proud. Congratulations to you all from an incredibly proud teacher. 🎭🎶❤️
Another lovely catch up with ex-students. Two at University and one still with me who has an apprenticeship at the BBC. So good to hear how well you're all doing. So incredibly proud of you all and thanks for love and laughter today. ❤️
Melissa is one of the mum's at our drama school. Take a look at her beautiful designs. Great for gifts or just treat yourself! Let's all support her new venture. ❤️
So my school is closed this week but some of my students are taking Lamda exams on Saturday and I offered them a final free lesson before the exam. The acting students suggested we have a social, takeaway evening at my house and go through their pieces. As ever they worked hard and we had such a great evening full of lots of laughter and chats. I love working with these amazing young people and that our home is also theirs. ❤️
When one of your senior students is a trainee pastry chef and she makes these for you as a Xmas present. Baileys, triple chocolate and salted caramel espresso eclairs!!! Thank you so much Emily Kitchen. X ❤️🎄
Another amazing performance this evening this time from our Thursday students. I was incredibly proud of their talent, drive and commitment. Such a great atmosphere and so wonderful to all be together again. Thank you to all of my students for their hard work and wonderful performances. I love you all! ❤️🎶🎭🎄🎅
Had a lovely evening of LAMDA acting classes before we break up for Xmas at the end of this week. Treats, giggles and even some homemade brownies and truffles from our pattiserie chef in training and they were amazing! Love being with these young people. ❤️🎭
Christmas has officially started! 🎄 Today my students finally got to perform with a live audience for the first time in 2yrs and they absolutely blew me away. I was so proud of their talent, professionalism and team work. The community spirit in that room today was so moving. Thank you to all of my students for their hard work and creativity. I love you all! ❤️🎶🎭🎄🎅
Very proud of all my students who observed the 2 minutes silence with such respect today.

This is Alice Pennington. Alice was a student with me for 10yrs and in that time it was an absolute privilege to work with such an intelligent and articulate young woman. Please take time to watch this short film. It gives us all a true insight to what life is like when you are visually impaired. During the 10yrs I taught Alice we actually had a role reversal and she taught me so much. Congratulations Alice on all your achievements. X ❤️
In this video meet Alice.Alice is a Henshaws service user, turned member of staff, who shares her story and details of her sight loss journey in this episode...
After a stressful week trying to open we are finally back tomorrow at Shawe Hall. Thank you to all our parents and students for their support this week. I can't wait to see you all tomorrow! 🎭🎶❤️
I'm afraid today hasn't brought any good news regarding opening the school as usual on Sunday for the start of our 23rd year. We are working as hard as we can to get things moving and have been doing so since March last year. Unfortunately the inadequacy of others is now impacting on our school and children. I am devastated that we can't open. Having dedicated 22yrs of my life working with the young people of our community I'm infuriated that this has been allowed to happen. I will be spending Monday contacting as many people in power as I can to try and get this sorted. I will contact you again as soon as I know we can open the building but until then please assume we are still closed. With a heavy heart but determined spirit.
I've finally finished editing our summer shows. Please check your emails parents. Enjoy watching your wonderful perform!
Thought some of my students might be interested. Go for it! 🎭
