At the sea of Tiberius & The Finale (Here is Hope Reprise)

After these things the Disciples go fishing but catch nothing.
One of the most tender and powerful moments in Lamb of God is found in the piece “At the Sea of Tiberias” by Rob Gardner.

It’s a quiet, intimate scene—Christ, now resurrected, lovingly but firmly asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?”
And each time, when Peter answers, the Saviour replies:
“Feed my sheep.”

Those words carry weight. They are more than a question—they are a commission.
To love Christ is to follow Him.
To follow Him is to love others.
To share His message.
To be a witness of Him through our compassion, our service, and the way we carry His light into the world.

Jacob Munday brings this moment to life so beautifully. You can feel the ache in Peter’s voice—the heartbreak of denial, the redemption of forgiveness, and the deep love for his Master. It’s a moment that reminds us that discipleship isn’t just a title—it’s a call to act.

And then, as Lamb of God reaches its soaring conclusion, the soloists and choir join in one voice to proclaim:

“He who healed our sorrows
rose with greater healing.
He whose love no end knows
lifts up our burden, carries our grief.
Here, He who was rejected
rose with power and glory.
He so long expected,
come to redeem us, come to deliver.
Here is hope.”

It is more than music—it is testimony.
It is the message Peter was asked to share, and it is the message we’re invited to carry too.

So may we go forward, with love, with courage, and with compassion… and feed His sheep.

To the Disciples (Jesus, My Saviour) 🕊️

The same evening as Christ’s glorious resurrection, many of the disciples gather. Jesus himself appears in the midst of them, saying “Peace be unto you”.

The words of this song, adapted from Joseph Addison’s “When All Thy Mercies, O My God”, tell of the wonder and joy felt by the disciples as they are blessed to be in the presence of their Lord once more.

“O how my words in vain impart
What glows within my grateful heart.
No tongue could ever right declare
What tender love is written there.”

Gloria .2

The moment the light lifts and the choir raises their voices to Mary’s glorious anthem, proclaiming:

“Now more than conquerors, through Him, our King.
Sing we: Gloria, gloria, gloria—glory to the Lord!
For the life He doth give, O sing: Gloria, gloria, GLORIA!
Gloria—for my Saviour lives.”

The Resurrection - Gloria 🌅

On the Sunday Morning, Mary Magdalene visits Christs tomb, but finds the stone taken away.

The choir sing for the angels:
Anttha mana bakya anti? - Woman, why weepest thou?

The resurrection section of Rob Gardner’s Lamb of God holds one of the most sacred and powerful moments of the entire production—the song “Gloria”, when Mary Magdalene recognises her risen Saviour. It’s a moment of pure, overwhelming joy—grief instantly turned to glory, sorrow to hope. That sacred recognition, that cry of “Master,” is the heartbeat of the entire story: He lives.

Beth Melling was born to portray Mary Magdalene. She was the very first soloist chosen for this production, and from the moment the music team heard her sing, the decision was set in stone. The spiritual confirmation was unmistakable and undeniable. Beth has played Mary before, and we knew she would bring her to life again—but this time, she brought even more.

Her vocal power soared through the room with conviction and reverence, capturing both the anguish of loss and the awe of divine recognition. Her stage presence is commanding yet tender, powerful yet full of grace. Every movement, every note, every expression testified of her deep connection to this role and her love for the Saviour. Her radiant smile, her quick steps toward the Disciples, and the light in her eyes—Beth was Mary.

And we cannot speak of this sacred scene without honouring Sam Kenny, one of the youngest members of our company, who as the narrator stepped into the role of the Saviour with humility, purity, and grace beyond his years. His delivery of those lines—“Mary”—pierced every heart, and every performance became a moment where we, too, recognised our Saviour. The Spirit was thick in the room. Joy was undeniable. Tears were inevitable.

For as we all testify…
He lives.

Mary declares, ‘Hope did not die here, but here was given…Here Is Hope’

In “Here Is Hope” by Rob Gardner, Mary’s emotions are a mix of deep sorrow and steadfast faith. As the mother of Jesus, she experiences both profound anguish as she watched her son suffer and Die, But then hope as she holds on to the belief that His sacrifice serves a greater purpose.

The song captures Mary’s heartache while also showcasing her trust in God’s plan. Despite her immense grief, she accepts that this suffering is part of a divine purpose, and the song’s title, “Here Is Hope,” reflects the central theme of finding hope even in dark times through resurrection and the fulfillment of God’s promise.

Olivia Ryan’s portrayal of Mary is a deeply moving and authentic embodiment of this inner conflict. As a new mother, her performance powerfully conveys the vulnerability of a mother’s love, paired with the quiet strength that comes from trusting in a divine plan. Her incredible voice and the purity of her sound elevate the emotional depth of the song, making her portrayal even more poignant.

What sets Olivia’s performance apart is her ability to convey the delicate balance of sorrow and strength. Through her voice and physical presence, she channels the weight of Mary’s emotions, offering a profound reminder of the love and sacrifice inherent in motherhood, and the transformative power of trust and hope, even in the most excruciating of trials.

Is This Not Enough? & To Calvary 🏛️

In the morning Jesus is Brought to be tried before the Governor of Judea, Pilate.

The people are persuaded and turned against the Christ.
This is felt through the powerful Aramaic sang by the choir:
Ha! Ha gabra! - Behold! Behold the man!
Emrah dallahha! - The Lamb of God!
Shkulaihi lehana! - Away with him!
L’Baraba! - Barabas!
Sheetah, Sheetah hu, kashan hu saiber - He was despised, He hath borne our sufferings
Makika kiban hu Saba - He was rejected, Our pains He carried.
Emrah d’shaqel ke-iyt-eh d’alma - The lamb who bearers the sin of the world!

And then, as Mary, His mother, shed her devastated tears, and John, His beloved friend, bowed his head, all who bore witness to the world’s most pivotal moment watched as the Saviour, the Son of God, bowed His head and willingly gave up His life.

Mitch’s portrayal of Pilate brought a remarkable depth of humility to this powerful Gentile figure. Through Rob Gardner’s stirring music, Mitch masterfully conveyed the inner conflict of a man torn between authority and awe. As Pilate, he stood before the crowd—a figure of power—yet his performance revealed a pleading wonder, a man bewildered by the bloodthirsty demands of the people. You could see it in his eyes, hear it in his voice—he had felt the power of the man before him and knew.

Mitch’s commanding yet vulnerable performance didn’t just depict Pilate’s struggle—it invited the audience into it. His Pilate made you wrestle with the same haunting question: Why? Why would they demand the death of One so clearly divine? With gripping sincerity, Mitch knocked it out of the park, leaving many in the audience undoubtedly reflecting on that very question.

This song delivered the powerful, agonising harmonies of Mary, His mother, John, the beloved, and the forsaken Pharisee accusers, intertwined with Pilate’s booming pleas, building to a roaring climax of tension. The moment when Christ was sentenced to death and taken to Calvary was nothing short of unforgettable—a harrowing and profoundly moving highlight of the performance.

Peter’s Denial - ‘I Cannot Watch Them.’

Peter follows the mob to where the elders and priests have assembled to try Jesus.
After denying his Saviour, Master, and friend, a heartbroken Peter laments his actions, the scourging of Jesus, and dedicates himself to the Lord.

Jacob Munday brings overwhelming emotion and profound depth to his portrayal of Peter the Apostle. Through Rob Gardner’s masterfully written music, Jacob carries the audience through Peter’s torment—the raw pain and the stomach-dropping moments as he denies his Saviour.
His breathtaking performance allowed all to feel the all-too-familiar, worldly fear of failing to stand for our Lord and friend. Yet, through Jacob’s moving portrayal, we were reminded of our shared humanity—the frailty that causes us to falter—and the redeeming love that calls us back. His stirring performance was a powerful testament that, despite our moments of weakness, we love Him, and we will declare to the world that we know Him.
