Hi everyone! We will be back to online meetings exclusively for the foreseeable future, due to issues with the new venue. Keep an eye out on here for updates on anything else!

We don't post the link on this public page, but if you need it, join the Group or the Group Chat (comment below for details), or send an email to [email protected]!

He's coming back. An actual Columbian Roast. 'That's a woman' 'I don't care, cuff it'. What will next week bring?

**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT** Due to a last minute emergency, the Rose and Monkey have been unable to host us tonight. However, one of our very kind members has offered their flat for the evening. It only holds about 9 people, but for everyone already on their way, we can still meet outside the Rose and Monkey, where I (Steven) will be waiting, and from there at 7.30, we will be able to walk less than 5 minutes to the member's flat.

I'm not saying who the member is or giving their address out, simply for privacy / security reasons, but if you want to message the group chat and ask, if they get to see it in time you may get a reply in your own Messages.

Don't forget to join us at our new venue from 7.30pm, Monday, at the Rose and Monkey!

Aaaand we're here! It's been a long time coming!

Bring a laptop or phone or paper copies of your work if you can :)

Tomorrow's meeting has also been moved to Zoom! Still at 7.30pm, as always. The new venue is opening for us specially on Mondays, and needs a bit of extra time to arrange it so that that's possible! So, we are 100% starting from next week, the 21st February!*

*I know I said that last week. But this week you have to actually believe me.

*MEETING CANCELLED* Unfortunately, due to a scheduling mixup, our new venue are unable to host us tonight. However, we are on track for next week, and the Zoom meeting is still on at 7.30!

This Saturday, at The Rose and Monkey, we will be holding our first social of the year! Make your way there for 7.30pm, further details about where exactly in the venue we'll be are incoming very soon!

Also, our usual feedback session is still on, Monday, 7.30pm, on Zoom. See you there!

Hi everyone! Two announcements.

Firstly - the first social of 2021 will be held on Saturday 29th January! Venue and timings tbc but keep an eye on the group / group chat! Details will be announced here nearer the time, but if you want to be updated and can't use those, email us at [email protected] for updates.

Secondly - In Person meetings are starting again soon at our new (quieter, more private) venue, the Rose and Monkey, near Ancoats and the Northern Quarter! From the 8th February, at 7.30pm, both the Zoom meeting and the in-person meetings will be happening separately. We'll see how that goes for a while and if it's impractical we can have yet another discussion on how else we can keep moving forward!

So those are the dates for your diary - Saturday 29th January for the social and Monday 8th February for the (hopefully permanent) return of in-person meetings!

See you all soon!

Hi all! We will be on zoom tomorrow at 7.30pm. Looking forward to hearing your new writing!

Happy New Year everyone! Thank you all for helping to keep the group running this year with fresh writing and impassioned feedback all round, through the challenges of remote meetings. Here's hoping we can see more of each other in 2022*!

* Our first meeting back will be Monday 10th January, on Zoom.

Hi everyone! Due to COVID concerns we won't be holding an official Christmas Meal this year and our booking has been cancelled.

Good feedback and lively conversation. Monday, 7.30pm, on Zoom. See you there!

Posted this in the other MNG page, but just in case anyone misses it there... A journal edited by my friend is seeking short stories on the theme of 'Untangling' for Issue 3. Stories should be 1500-2500 words - deadline is Jan. 1st so if you've something to submit, send it to [email protected] I've enjoyed writing for Issues 1 & 2, it's a lovingly-made journal and, if accepted, yours would be its first featured prose fiction 😱
Are you writing a novel or thinking about writing one? The Write Here… Online course – our £99, eight-week novel-writing course, which closes for enrolment this Sunday – is ideal for writers in lockdown. Taught by expert former Curtis Brown Creative editor Rufus Purdy, the course takes writers from those tentative early planning stages right through to submitting your finished manuscript to literary agents and publishers.
