Build: non-specific but not athletic
Character type: Working class everyman, can be somewhat dosey and naïve. Unsophisticated and lives a simple life.
Looking for character actors who are able to insert some obscurities into their characters, the likes of Richard E. Grant and Toby Jones.
There’s so often a case where we see northern characters in the ‘Northern monkey’ stereotype. And while I appreciate stereotypes exist for a reason, and they are recognisable. I want the characters in this to be more than just a caricature.
Filming: Crew and location is sorted, so it’s down to actor availability. Ideally sooner rather than later while pubs are still closed. If we say before the end of the first week of March as an approximate date.
Usage:
First and foremost it’s a reason to make something, me and the crew have been sat inside for the best part of a year and not been able to flex any creative muscles. I’ve not directed anything since Jan 2020 so I’m craving being back on set the same way I imagine many performers are craving being back on stage or Infront of the camera.

Combining his 10 years teaching experience at some of the country’s leading drama schools, a rich and varied experience on stage, screen and radio and some reassuring Northern roots, all of the services MAP provide aim to cut out the b*******t. We provide what actors need, when actors need it, and at a price affordable to actors. Offering workshops, classes, seminars, show-reels, headshots and simple advice, Simon uses those professionals he has had the pleasure to work with over the last decade who share the same ethos as he does.
On top of this, MAP operate MAP Productions and produce their own work both in Manchester and across the country, providing paid work for primarily working class actors, in new-writing and re-imagined regional productions.
