Some awards are extra special, and these three have us bursting with pride! 🥹💜

The Northern Stage Awards Star Awards celebrate the youngest stars on stage who may not have the biggest parts or the most lines, but whose commitment to their society and the stage shines through. They recognise those who demonstrate promise, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for their society and the wonderful world of theatre.

And we are absolutely OVER THE MOON to celebrate three very special members of our SDS family!

🌟 Aubrey Mottershead
🌟 Millie Holder
🌟 Tommy Sheedy

A HUGE congratulations to you all!

Your enthusiasm, dedication and love for what you do make you such a special part of Sparks Dramatic Society. Seeing our youngest members grow in confidence, develop their talents and find their place on stage is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Keep shining, keep learning, keep bringing that wonderful energy to the stage and, most importantly, keep being YOU! ✨

✨🏆 THE NORTHERN STAGE AWARDS 2026 🏆✨

We’re only just getting over what an extraordinary weekend it was!

There’s nothing quite like celebrating with the SDS Family, and we’ll never turn down an excuse to get dressed up, enjoy a fabulous evening together and celebrate the incredible talent within our society!

This year, we were there to celebrate the phenomenal achievements of our cast, crew and creatives across FIVE productions. To be recognised at the Northern Stage Awards is an achievement in itself, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who helped bring these productions to life.

But to come home with some wins under our belt too?! Well, that’s the icing on the cake!

A HUGE congratulations to all our winners! You are all incredibly deserving, and we are bursting with pride. And to everyone who was shortlisted or played a part in making these productions what they were; thank you for your talent, passion, dedication and for being part of what makes SDS so special.

Nights like these remind us just how lucky we are to be part of this wonderful theatrical community. Here’s to the memories, the friendships, the hard work behind the scenes and, of course, the celebrations! 🥂

We’ve got a few more wins to share but they deserve posts all of their own so check back later today 💜

🚫 SOCIAL MEDIA WON’T LET US SAY THE NAME OF OUR SHOW. 🚫

Apparently one tiny little word in the title might upset the algorithm. Or offend someone. Or summon the Facebook police. We’re not entirely sure. 🤷‍♂️

So instead, we asked our cast and crew to act out words that rhyme with it…

🧹 Chores.
🦁 Roars.
😴 Snores.
🦖 Dinosaurs.

Completely normal theatre marketing behaviour.

If you think you’ve worked out the missing word, congratulations - you’re exactly the sort of person who should come and see:

🍎 SNOW SH*TE & THE SEVEN WH*RES 🍎

An adult panto packed with laughs, innuendo and absolutely no regard for social media guidelines.
