The countdown is on!
With just 12 days to go until Show Day, now is the perfect time to get your entries in!

Whether you’re a regular exhibitor or thinking about entering for the very first time, we’d love to see you taking part. There really is something for everyone — from flowers and vegetables to baking, crafts, photography and lots more.

Never entered before? Give it a go!
You don’t need to be an expert and you certainly don’t need to be competitive. The Village Show is about having fun, trying something new and celebrating the wonderful talents within our community.

And don’t forget — children’s entries are FREE! So why not encourage the younger members of the family to have a go too?

🧶🎨 GROUP 7A – CRAFTS! 🎨🧶
Calling all the crafty, creative and hands-on people of Holyport! ✂️🧵✨

This group has something for just about every kind of maker, whether you love stitching, knitting, crochet, quilting, painting, drawing, dressmaking, card making or creating things from wood, metal, pottery and more. 🧶🖌️🪡🧵🎨

There are even separate classes for your own embroidery, needlepoint or cross-stitch design AND items made from a kit — so don’t think your creation has to be completely original to be worthy of entering!

You could enter:
🧵 Embroidery, needlepoint or cross stitch
🧶 Knitting or crochet
🪡 Patchwork and quilting
👗 Dressmaking
👜 Soft handicrafts
🎨 Painting or drawing
💌 Card making
💍 Jewellery, pottery, decoupage and other hard crafts

And just like all the other classes, you don't need to be an expert! If you've made something you're proud of, why not put it forward?

This is about like-minded people coming together, sharing what they've created and celebrating the wonderful talent and creativity in our community. 🌻

Calling all bakers — and anyone who fancies having a go! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

If you love baking, this is your chance to share your favourite creations at the Holyport Village Show. And there’s a brilliant range of classes to choose from!
🍰 Victoria Sandwich
🍪 Shortbread
🍎 Fruit Cake
🥐 Plain Scones
🎂 Decorated Cake
🍞 Seeded Bread
🍫 Chocolate Brownies — including a packet mix class!
🥞 Flapjacks
🥕 Vegetable Cake
🍋 Lemon Drizzle Cake
So whether you’re a confident baker, a weekend cake-maker or someone who’s never entered a show before, why not give it a go? PLEASE read instructions and use recipes provided on page 8 of the schedule.

It’s not about being a professional baker or creating something perfect. It’s about like-minded people coming together, sharing what they’ve baked, having a bit of fun and celebrating our community.

You might even discover that your favourite family recipe deserves a place on the show table!

Got a glut of fruit? 🍓🍒🍎 Or simply love making your own preserves?
Then this could be the group for you!

There are classes for soft fruit jam, stone fruit jam, marmalade, fruit curd, chutney and fruit liqueur — so whether you’re a seasoned jam-maker or fancy having a go for the first time, there’s something to tempt you. 🍓🍊🫙

And if you’ve grown more fruit than you know what to do with this summer, why not turn some of it into something delicious and enter it into the Village Show!

It’s not about being a professional preserve maker or winning every class. It’s about sharing what we’ve made, learning from each other, having a bit of fun and bringing our community together.

So dust off those jam jars, get stirring and see what you can create! 👩‍🍳🍓

Fancy getting creative with flowers? This one is for you! 🌸✨

There are three lovely classes to choose from, including an arrangement in a container of your choice, a miniature arrangement in a teacup ☕🌷 and an arrangement entitled ‘Woodland Walk’ 🌳🍃

And the best bit? You don’t need to be a professional flower arranger! This is your chance to get creative, have some fun and see what you can come up with.

Whether you love arranging flowers, fancy trying something completely new, or just have a creative idea you’d like to bring to life — why not have a go?

Whether you’ve got a garden bursting with blooms, a favourite rose, a beautiful dahlia, a treasured houseplant or even a little cactus or succulent you’ve lovingly grown — why not enter it into the Village Show?

There are classes for dahlias, pompom dahlias, roses, mixed flowers, cacti & succulents and self-grown pot plants. 🌺🌹🌼🪴

And don’t worry if you’re not a professional gardener — this is about sharing what you love growing and celebrating our community of gardeners.

Got tomatoes, apples, pears or berries growing in your garden or allotment? 🌱 Then why not show them off!

There are classes for standard tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, non-standard tomatoes, dessert apples, pears and soft fruit — so there’s plenty to choose from. 🍅🍎🍐🍓

You don’t need a huge harvest or an award-winning garden. If you’ve grown something you’re proud of, give it a go!

And remember, the Village Show isn’t about being the best — it’s about like-minded people coming together, sharing what they’ve grown, made and created, and having a bit of fun along the way.

Calling all growers! 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾
Whether you’ve got a bumper crop, a particularly impressive potato, the longest runner bean, a wonky veg that had other ideas… or simply something you’re proud of growing, there’s a class for you! 🥕🥒🌶️

And remember — you don’t need to be an expert or grow perfect vegetables to get involved. The ‘Wonky Veg’ and ‘Best of the Rest’ classes are perfect for those vegetables that didn’t quite go according to plan!

Have a look through the classes in the image and start thinking about what you might enter.

The countdown is officially on to the Holyport Village Show! 🌻

Over the coming days, we’ll be running through all the different categories and classes, so whether you’re a keen gardener, baker, crafter, photographer, flower arranger — or fancy entering for the first time — there will be something for you! 🌸🍰📸🧶

Keep an eye on our page as we reveal more each day to get you thinking about the categories, encourage you to have a go and help get those entries ready.
