Sometimes, all it takes is being in the right place at the right time.
A friend invited me to attend The Hidden Science of Reggae Music, and I certainly didn't expect to be invited onto the stage.
As part of my preparation for Unmuted & Unapologetic on 4th July at the Learie Constantine Centre, I performed Keep It Like It Is as a tribute to the late great Louisa Mark.
I stood in a room of over 700 people, and something absolutely magical happened.
Our voices joined together. Our hands clapped. Our hearts connected.
For a few beautiful moments, the music reminded us of its incredible power to bring people together and unite us through a shared love of music.
I'm grateful for the kind words shared by Andrew Mohammed, and honoured that I could be part of such a special moment. It reminded me that when I am aligned with my purpose and when you are aligned with yours opportunities often find you when you least expect them.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support me on this journey as I celebrate the success of Caught You In A Lie, my one-woman musical monologue, while also celebrating music and the legacy of great artists like Louisa Mark.
The love, encouragement, and belief you show me is not unnoticed. It is deeply appreciated and very much loved.
And this is only the first part of the journey.
