a freelance organist based in Bristol. She opens her concert with Bach’s great Prelude and Fugue in C minor, BWV 546. Then, as a champion of women composers, she introduces us to some intriguing pieces by Portman, Bennett, Tabakova and Diemer, interspersed with Frank’s dramatic Choral No.3 in A minor. We are so thrilled to be welcoming the young people of the China-Uk cultural exchange programme to the Parish Church of St Laurence, Ludlow on Tuesday 4th August at 6pm. An Orchestra of more than 60 will perform a one hour concert, with an introduction by a group of traditional dancers. Such opportunities rarely exist outside the large cities and we are privileged to have been chosen.

Entry is free but donations are welcome

There is some amazing live music available in Ludlow this week - and, if rock is not your preference or you want to escape the heat - on Saturday at 1pm a trio of very talented young musicians from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire will present an eclectic programme of music arranged for horns with piano accompaniment. The programme includes “Cornucopia”, by Thomas Dunhill and ends with “Les Adieux”, a great piece by Franz Strauss (father of Richard), Entrance is free, although donations at the end are always welcome.

Those visiting the Parish Church of St Laurence, Ludlow this week will have enjoyed hearing some of the workshops for the international choir of the Ludlow Summer School (organised by the Lacock team www.lacock.org)
If you would like to hear the results of all the hard work the Choir will be performing a one hour concert at 6pm on Friday - free to enter, with any donations to the Church welcome.

This Saturday evening come and enjoy some beautiful organ music in the cool of St Laurence. We are delighted to welcome back Jonathan Scott who performs an unmissable summer organ spectacular featuring Vivaldi's Four Seasons, alongside some of the world's greatest music. Tickets (£12) are available from Ludlow Assembly Rooms or on the door.
