Practicing 'thumbing'

The blowpipes are stoppered with twigs, you blow in and block the air with your thumb. And listen to it escaping. Repeat til you get the hang of it.

So then, when there is glass on the end, you can thumb it and watch the air expand and control the size of the bubble. Simple yet satisfying.

Stoke the fires! We will be back at the kiln in a couple of week's time for midsummer.
It's been nearly two years since we last fired it up so I hope we don't need to do any repairs 🤞
