Whatever happened to fairness?

We were raised to believe that if you work hard, pay your taxes, and obey the law, the system would look after you. We did our part. But looking around the UK today, it feels like those old rules no longer apply.

Our pensioners are freezing, our veterans are forgotten, and our public services are at breaking point. Yet, we see a system that seems to bend over backwards for everyone except the people who built this country.

We see our neighbourhoods changing rapidly, rules being ignored, and resources stretched thin, while legitimate concerns are dismissed as "complaining." It’s not about hate; it’s about fairness. It’s about wanting a country where law and order still matter, and where charity begins at home.

It is heartbreaking to feel like strangers in our own towns. We demand a system that puts the safety and well-being of its law-abiding citizens first. Is that too much to ask?

• You played outside until the streetlights came on
• Saturday mornings meant cartoons, cereal, and pure happiness
• Your mum shouted your name from the door instead of texting
• Phones were stuck to the wall – and so were we 👀
• We knocked the neighbour’s door and said “Is he coming out?”
• A £1 coin felt like you were rich 😅
• You drank water from the garden hose and survived
• No helmets, no seatbelts… just vibes
• We recorded songs from the radio with cassette tapes
• Life was slower, simpler, and honestly… better ❤️

These moments stay in our hearts long after the years pass.

Life teaches us that time moves quickly.
Kids grow up… parents get older…
and one day, the things we once thought were small
become the memories we treasure the most.

So today, take a moment to appreciate your people.
Call them… hug them… tell them you love them.
