There is something incredibly special about watching a young person hold their Arts Award certificate for the very first time. ❤️🎨
For me, delivering Arts Award has never been just about art.
Yes, we explore creativity, develop artistic skills, discover artists, visit exhibitions, share ideas and create projects. But what matters most is what the young person walks away with.
They walk away with confidence.
They walk away knowing that their ideas have value.
They walk away having discovered something new about themselves.
They walk away with the experience of setting a goal, overcoming challenges and seeing something through to completion.
And sometimes, they walk away with a qualification that represents so much more than a certificate.
This picture captures one of my favourite parts of what I do — seeing the pride on a young person’s face when they realise, “I did this.”
That feeling is priceless. ❤️
My service is about creating meaningful opportunities for young people to express themselves, build confidence, develop their creativity and achieve something they can genuinely be proud of.
Because the art is important… but the young person is always at the heart of it. 🎨✨
