When Rachana shared this haunting bit from her childhood, I almost stopped in my tracks. I’m glad she found it safe enough to tell me, and with her permission, we’re sharing this chapter of her life with our audience. Stories of child abuse and sexual abuse are never easy to hear, but we are working towards a society where girls and women can share their experiences of harassment and abuse openly. This is not shared to create chaos, but to highlight that almost every girl carries a story of abuse, but so many stay silent. We believe in sharing such stories loudly so the burden shifts from victims to perpetrators. We’re sharing this to offer hope, relief, and a sense of healing to anyone who has gone through something similar. And to give strength to those who are quietly enduring, whether for society, family prestige, or themselves. We urge people, especially women and girls, to speak out, be brave, and confront their perpetrators head on.
