THE MIRACLE OF MINDFULNESS

Feelings, whether of compassion or irritation, should be welcomed, recognized, and treated on an absolutely equal basis; because both are ourselves. The tangerine I am eating is me. The mustard greens I am planting are me. I plant with all my heart and mind. I clean this teapot with the kind of attention I would have were I giving the baby Buddha or Jesus a bath. Nothing should be treated more carefully than anything else. In mindfulness, compassion, irritation, mustard green plant, and teapot are all sacred.

A STATEMENT FROM LIBERATUM

At Liberatum, we stand unequivocally with the victims and believe those who have had the courage to speak out. In light of what is known about Jeffrey Epstein and his conviction, we will no longer support or collaborate with any individuals who actively pursued or maintained a relationship or connection with him after that conviction. The world is a beautiful place, and each of us carries a responsibility to bring light into its darkest corners. We cannot remain silent when cultural figures misuse positions of power or fail to uphold the moral responsibility that influence demands. Integrity, accountability, and compassion must guide the platforms we build and the voices we choose to amplify.

INDIA’S INDIGENOUS PEOPLES

This undated photo released by the Anthropological Survey of India shows a three Jarawa tribe boys, one of the five tribes in India’s Andaman and Nicobar archipelago. Government officials and anthropologists believe that ancient knowledge of the movement of wind, sea and birds may have saved the five indigenous tribes on the Indian archipelago of Andaman and Nicobar islands from the tsunami that hit the Asian coastline Dec. 26. According to varying estimates, there are only about 400 to 1,000 members alive today from the Great Andamanese, Onges, Jarawas, Sentinelese and Shompens. Some anthropological DNA studies indicate the generations may have spanned back 70,000 years. 🇧🇷 What a historic moment for Brazil at the Golden Globes! 🎥✨
The Secret Agent takes Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language, and Wagner Moura becomes the first Brazilian man to win Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama.

At Liberatum, we’ve long championed the power of Brazilian creativity. Our 2023 festival in Salvador, Bahia – with legends like Morgan Freeman (digital participation), Viola Davis, Angela Bassett, and Brazil’s brightest stars – put Bahia firmly on the global map.

Just one month later, Beyoncé herself arrived in Salvador for a surprise celebration of her Renaissance film – proof that our work opens doors and elevates Brazil worldwide.

These Golden Globe wins are the latest chapter in the story we’re helping write. Proud to keep building bridges and shining the spotlight where it belongs. The world is watching Brazil. 🌟
Congratulations to Kleber Mendonça Filho, Wagner Moura, and the entire team!
