🚨 OPEN CALL: KORO LAB 🚨
We’re incredibly excited to launch Koro Lab, our brand-new artist development programme supporting nine migrant and Global Majority artists working in immersive, interactive and site-specific theatre.
If you’re dreaming up bold, interactive theatre and want space, support and seed funding to test it - this is for you.
What’s on offer (April-October 2026):
📍Space: One week of free rehearsal space at Shoreditch Town Hall, Theatre Deli or Wellcome Collection
📍Seed funding: A £2,500 bursary (plus an additional £500 for the Wellcome Collection commission to support collections research)
📍Training: Two days of workshops exploring immersive and site-specific practice, game-making, co-creation, digital experiences and embedding accessibility
📍Documentation: Professional filming and photography
📍Access consultancy: Support from an access advisor
📍Showcasing opportunities: Sharings in September 2026
📍Production mentoring: Development, fundraising and touring support
Selected artists will also feed directly into Koro Festival 2027, our new biennial showcase of inclusive immersive theatre across London, with opportunities for full commissions.
Four types of bursaries:
📍Open Spaces: Socially engaged immersive performance, in partnership with Shoreditch Town Hall
📍Site-Specific: New interactive work for unexpected locations, in partnership with Theatre Deli London
📍Marketplace: Migrant-led immersive performances in public spaces, presented at Leadenhall Market
📍Wellcome Collection: New pieces exploring health equity through research in Wellcome Collection archives
